The RoleWe are seeking a
Private Cloud & Solution Architecture Leader to build, lead, and drive the
Private Cloud proposition for Consult in Canada, while also leading the
Managed Services Solutioning team supporting complex client opportunities across Canada.
This role will be responsible for shaping a differentiated private cloud offering that aligns with client needs, market demand, and the organization's broader consulting and managed services strategy. In addition, the leader will oversee solution architecture and solutioning support for
Consult + Managed Services opportunities, spanning not only private cloud, but also broader managed services across
Cloud, Applications, Data, and related technology domains.
The successful candidate will combine strategic proposition development, deep solution architecture expertise, commercial acumen, and people leadership. They will work closely with sales, consulting, delivery, engineering, alliance partners, and managed services teams to create scalable, competitive, and outcome-driven solutions for clients.
Key Responsibilities1. Private Cloud Proposition LeadershipLead the development and growth of the
Private Cloud proposition for Consult in Canada, including strategy, positioning, solution components, commercial models, and go-to-market approach.
Responsibilities include:
- Define and evolve the Canadian Private Cloud value proposition in alignment with client demand, industry trends, and the organization's broader cloud and infrastructure strategy.
- Develop repeatable offerings, solution patterns, reference architectures, pricing models, and sales enablement materials.
- Partner with Consult leaders, sales teams, alliance partners, and delivery organizations to take the proposition to market.
- Identify target client segments, industry use cases, and priority opportunities for private cloud growth.
- Ensure the proposition addresses key client needs, including modernization, resiliency, security, compliance, sovereignty, cost optimization, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Represent the Private Cloud proposition in client conversations, executive briefings, workshops, and strategic pursuits.
- Monitor market trends, competitive offerings, hyperscaler/private cloud developments, and emerging technologies to continuously refine the proposition.
2. Managed Services Solutioning LeadershipLead the
Managed Services Solutioning team responsible for supporting Consult and Managed Services pursuits across multiple technology domains.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage and guide solution architects and solutioning specialists supporting opportunities across:
- Private Cloud
- Public and Hybrid Cloud
- Application Managed Services
- Data and Analytics Managed Services
- Infrastructure and Platform Managed Services
- Automation, DevOps, and Observability services
- Ensure high-quality, client-centric, commercially viable managed services solutions are developed for new and existing clients.
- Oversee end-to-end solutioning for complex opportunities, including solution design, scope definition, service model, transition approach, operating model, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and pricing inputs.
- Support integrated Consult + Managed Services opportunities by ensuring solutions connect advisory, transformation, implementation, and run/operate services.
- Drive standardization and reuse of solution assets, managed services patterns, estimation models, and proposal content.
- Ensure solutions are aligned to delivery capabilities, contractual commitments, service-level expectations, and financial targets.
- Provide solution governance and review for strategic deals, ensuring quality, consistency, and risk management.
3. Solution Architecture and Client EngagementAct as a senior solution architecture leader for strategic client opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead or support solution architecture for large, complex, and multi-tower managed services pursuits.
- Translate client business and technology requirements into practical, scalable, and commercially sound solutions.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, solution workshops, architecture reviews, and executive-level presentations.
- Develop compelling solution narratives that clearly articulate business outcomes, technical approach, service model, value realization, and differentiation.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders across technology, operations, security, procurement, finance, and business leadership.
- Ensure solutions incorporate key considerations such as security, compliance, resiliency, automation, service management, data governance, cost management, and continuous improvement.
- Support negotiations and contracting by providing solution clarity, scope validation, and risk-based recommendations.
4. Commercial and Pursuit SupportPartner with sales, account teams, and commercial stakeholders to improve win rates and deal quality.
Responsibilities include:
- Support qualification of managed services opportunities and provide early input on solution feasibility, delivery complexity, and commercial attractiveness.
- Contribute to business cases, pricing strategies, deal shaping, and commercial models.
- Support RFP/RFI responses, proposals, statements of work, solution summaries, and executive presentations.
- Ensure solution scope, assumptions, dependencies, exclusions, and responsibilities are clearly documented.
- Identify opportunities to expand from consulting engagements into managed services and long-term client partnerships.
- Help create differentiated propositions that combine consulting-led transformation with scalable managed services operations.
5. Team Leadership and Capability DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop the Managed Services Solutioning team.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management for solution architects and solutioning team members.
- Build team capability across private cloud, public cloud, applications, data, service management, automation, and commercial solutioning.
- Define solutioning standards, governance processes, templates, and quality expectations.
- Create a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Manage team capacity, prioritization, and assignment to strategic pursuits.
- Support hiring, onboarding, career development, and skills planning for the solutioning function.
- Foster collaboration between solutioning, consulting, sales, delivery, transition, operations, finance, and legal teams.
6. Delivery Alignment and Transition ReadinessEnsure solutions can be successfully transitioned into delivery and long-term managed services operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Partner with delivery and operations teams to validate solution feasibility, delivery readiness, and operational sustainability.
- Ensure transition plans, service models, tooling requirements, governance structures, and operational processes are clearly defined.
- Support handover from pursuit to delivery teams, ensuring solution intent and commitments are understood.
- Identify delivery risks early and work with stakeholders to develop mitigation plans.
- Promote automation, standardization, and service excellence across managed services solutions.
- Support continuous feedback loops between delivery performance and solution design.
Required ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have:
- Significant experience in solution architecture, managed services, cloud, infrastructure, or technology consulting leadership.
- Strong understanding of private cloud, hybrid cloud, public cloud, and modern infrastructure operating models.
- Experience building or leading technology propositions, offerings, or go-to-market solutions.
- Proven ability to lead solutioning for large, complex managed services opportunities.
- Experience across one or more managed services domains, including:
- Cloud managed services
- Application managed services
- Data managed services
- Infrastructure managed services
- Platform operations
- DevOps, automation, observability, or service management
- Demonstrated success working with sales and consulting teams to shape and win client opportunities.
- Experience developing solution architectures, commercial models, transition approaches, and managed services operating models.
- Strong understanding of IT service management, service-level agreements, operational governance, and delivery risk management.
- Experience leading teams of architects, solution consultants, or technical specialists.
- Strong executive communication skills and the ability to influence senior client and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications are an asset, such as:
- Cloud certifications from AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, Red Hat, or similar providers
- ITIL or service management certifications
- Architecture certifications such as TOGAF or equivalent
- Security or compliance-related certifications
- Experience in the Canadian market, including regulated industries such as financial services, public sector, healthcare, telecommunications, or energy.
- Experience working with offshore, nearshore, and distributed delivery models.
- Experience with consulting-led managed services growth models.
