Full Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to:
  • Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values
  • Values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates
  • Collaborates effectively with service teams to develop and maintain Claim service standards for clients
  • Maintains a proactive approach focusing on claim resolutions and strategies for assigned matters
  • Advocates for the timely, optimal resolution of claim matters for our clients
  • Communicates pertinent claim information timely to internal and external clients
  • Maintains strong relationships with internal and external clients
  • Subject matter expertise in Personal lines of coverage (e.g. Personal Auto, Homeowners)
  • Communicates effectively with other departments and peers to support initiatives across the enterprise
  • Provides direction and oversight to Claim Advocates in the management and advocacy of claims on behalf of clients
  • Responsibility for the management of associates including performance review, hiring and placement, resolving customer complaints, and salary and budget planning
  • Encourages development opportunities for staff by setting performance goals that align with organizational goals and providing performance feedback
  • Reviews and assigns matter advocacy and accounts to appropriate staff to ensure balanced workloads and optimal outcomes
  • Leads and contributes to Claim Projects, and other tasks as assigned
  • Demonstrates superior technical insurance and business acumen
  • Demonstrates exceptional leadership characteristics
  • Attends insurance related seminars including but not limited to continuing education classes

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: include but are not limited to:
  • 5-10 years of prior Personal Lines Claim experience
  • 3+ years of prior supervisory or leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree or work experience equivalent to a college degree
  • Systems skills - Applied Epic, Carrier websites
  • Experience with MS Office products (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Exceptional technical skill and knowledge of coverage and claims handling
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Required: strong mathematical and reasoning skills
  • Ability to discuss and solve claim problems with clients and insurance carriers
