What is the opportunity?

We are looking for a Private Banker to join our growing team in the York Region area. You will be responsible for the growth of existing and new relationships, using a personalized and confidential approach to execute integrated wealth management advice and planning, sophisticated credit, banking, and cash management solutions.

What will you do?
  • Excel at new Private Banking client acquisition and business growth by leading prospect contact strategies through internal and external partnerships.
  • Through leading by example, inspire the team to deliver high end relationship management and advice to Canadians with complex financial needs. Key team members include a Private Banking Advisor ("PBA") as key contact on managing day to day banking needs and Manager Credit Structures ("MCS") for credit advice and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities and solve problems leveraging a OneRBC approach to provide holistic solutions to clients beyond Private Banking.
  • Create & implement customized client strategy to enhance share of wallet, drive client retention, and deliver a best in class client loyalty.
  • Assess and execute credit strategies as part of an integrated approach to financial planning
  • Take ownership of client problem resolution, sourcing answers and leveraging expertise across RBC
  • Maintain an awareness of areas of operational risk or potential loss through regular assessment of portfolio quality.


What do you need to succeed?

Must have:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a client relationship role (personal and/or business) where you provided advice & solutions to clients
  • An understanding of credit and financial planning fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve best in class results in a team environment
  • Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC) designation or must be obtained within 3 months
  • Financial Planning designation (PFP) or must be obtained within 12 months


Nice to have:
  • Commercial or corporate banking experience
  • Previous experience in a direct financial planning role
  • People management experience
  • Other designations, such as the CSC, MBA, CFA, CPA, LLB, etc.
