Print Strategy Principal Description - The opportunity We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented strategy practitioner to join HP's Print Strategy & Planning team, reporting to the Senior Director and Head of Print Strategy as part of the newly created HP Global Strategy function. This team of strategy professionals is widely respected across HP and regarded as a seeding ground for HP's future leaders. We work as a 'meritocracy' that appeals to and rewards high achievers. HP has been leading the Office Print market for 40 years since the introduction of the HP Laserjet printer in 1984. This role is responsible for driving the company's strategic direction, ensuring that it remains competitive and adaptable in a rapidly changing business landscape. This is role is integral to transform the Office Print and evolve it into a more software and solutions driven business. In this role you will define our gameplan that will impact our product/portfolio roadmap, GTM motions, competitive responses, M&A approach, etc. You will inform the strategic choices by conducting in-depth analyses, synthesizing the analytical results, testing hypotheses, and forming the recommendations. The role will need collaboration with cross-functional leaders to refine and align strategy with organizational goals. Responsibilities 3 Analyze market research on latest industry trends, competitive landscape and product innovations. 3 Develop recommendations on go-forward 1-5 year strategy on where to play and how to win. 3 Develops some short-term plans and levers to optimize business and financial performance, facilitate regular follow-ups on strategic planning to foster collaboration and ensure accountability. 3 Structure analytical approaches and develops project guidelines, objectives, strategies deliverables, and tactics to drive successful outcomes. 3 Manages large, cross-functional teams and communications to facilitate projects and ensure timely delivery to internal stakeholders. 3 Consults with business executives on a wide range of issues related to the strategy formulation process, including risk management and new growth opportunities. 3 Provides thought leadership and contributes to expanding the knowledge base within area of expertise which includes developing new methods, techniques and criteria for developing strategy analysis and recommendations. 3 Collaborates across businesses, functions, and regions to align strategy and direction with corporate and divisional/business units. Education & Experience Recommended 3 Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence. 3 Has at least 8-10+ years of work experience, preferably 3-4+ in management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic planning, or a related field 3 Top-tier consulting experience highly desirable Knowledge & Skills 3 Excellent analytical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills. 3 Structures ambiguous problems and takes action to solve them independently while managing project objectives. 3 Ability to summarize abstract ideas clearly and independently manage project objectives. 3 Developed business acumen and technical knowledge within at least two business units. 3 Very strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence. 3 Excellent project management skills, including project structuring. 3 Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting. 3 Ability to learn and draw on new analytical techniques to develop creative approaches to project objectives. 3 Oversees significant research and analysis efforts.
