Full Job Description
Purpose:
You will provide water/wastewater treatment engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the mechanical/process engineering team.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver process and mechanical engineering services that meet Worley, its customers and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Provide and lead project decisions on core expertise in process design and regulatory compliance issues related to industrial water and wastewater processes.
  • Create water balance from thermal performance data.
  • Create water and wastewater treatment system conceptual design and process flow diagrams of project plant water and wastewater systems.
  • Based on client project process criteria, lead in evaluation, selection, and design of water and wastewater treatment technology processes for precipitation, oxidation, coagulation, flocculation, clarification, filtration, membrane based systems, demineralization, disinfection, evaporation/crystallization, chemical feed systems.
  • Write specifications for water and wastewater treatment equipment. Review vendor proposals, perform cost analysis and technical review.
  • Initiate, manage and if required supervise process and mechanical engineering project requirements.
  • Perform process and mechanical engineering services such as:
    • Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
    • Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
    • Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. For example, write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations and write purchase orders.
  • Work with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance. Influence over duties. Receive administrative direction based on organization policies and objectives. Work is reviewed to ensure conformity with policy and for coordination of other company functions or groups.
  • If needed, act as the process or mechanical engineering Lead on specific projects.
  • If responsible for a team:
    • Outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress.
    • Ensure the required services meet Worley, its customers and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
  • Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its customer's requirements.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in mechanical engineering.
  • If required, assist and support junior personnel within the mechanical engineering team.
  • Communicate effectively with the mechanical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customers.
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.


What you will bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
  • At least three (3) years in Water and Wastewater Treatment plant design.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in mechanical equipment associated with waster and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment system equipment industry performance and design software (i.e. French Creek, Wave, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge in water and wastewater chemistry.
  • Extensive relevant discipline experience.
  • Experience working in project leadership role.
  • Experience in estimating project costs and writing proposal content.
  • Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
  • A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
  • A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Competent use of other mechanical engineering specific software.
  • Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
  • Substantial technical and practical experience in chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:
  • 4 or 5 year Batchelor degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.

Preferred:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States.
