Full Job Description
Role Summary

The Principal Technical Business Analyst Position entails handling multiple projects & resources with shifting priorities in a real-time environment. Principal Technical Business Analysts are both the market data/logic experts for assigned feeds and a backup for the team manager who assists with overall squad management. They gather and document business and technical data-related requirements for internally developed data processing software applications. They are also responsible for testing the data/market logic accuracy of those software applications and supporting them through the release cycle into production environment. The Principal Technical Business Analyst would also assist with tracking progress of other projects within the team, providing guidance to team members, and likely take on additional non-project responsibilities.

What You will be Doing:
  • Monitoring exchange notifications and enhancement requests. Advancing & Articulating all changes requiring action and initiating plans of action. Potentially serving as a backup for multiple venues - ensuring notifications aren't missed & impacts are assessed in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with Stock Exchanges, Project and Delivery Managers, Business Sponsors, Internal and External Clients, Software Developers, etc. to manage demand for new work. Establishing successful and results-oriented working relationships with a diverse set of personalities.
  • Attending and contributing in status meetings. Assist squad members with scope, requirements, and testing guidance/oversight. Attending meetings where not serving as project BA - just providing support/guidance. Assisting with squad management as needed to track progress and keep work progressing.
  • Documenting business and technical requirements for software developers, support staff, internal and external clients, etc.
  • Documenting test cases and results. Documentation by a Principal BA should be the gold standard - can lead by example to others.
  • Providing Production Support teams with troubleshooting/analysis of service disruptions. Takes ownership to ensure that issues are addressed/resolved even when the primary BA isn't available.
  • Contributing to cross-departmental meetings and cross-train with other team members. Work as a team to document, track, and produce reports for all projects pertinent to the group. General expectation for Principal BAs to take on some responsibility or effort outside of venue delivery projects.
  • Transparency: Providing regular feedback regarding changes in scope, roadblocks, concerns, etc. that may impact clients & deliverables.
  • Process Improvement: Producing and deploying new ideas on improving method-of-work within the Business Analyst space and beyond.
  • Assist with training/mentoring new staff.
  • Agility: A level of BA expertise that allows for taking on virtually any project in any team/venue sector with little assistance or supervision.
  • Continuous Improvement & Automation Support: Provide strategic and tactical feedback on process improvement and automation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational feasibility.
  • Actively support the piloting and deployment phases of new solutions, collaborating with multi-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Establish clear ownership and accountability structures to ensure sustained adoption and maintenance of implemented processes.
