JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity
Our location in Irving, TX currently has an opportunity for Principal Systems Integration Specialist. This is part of Core Labs Dx. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems is often the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.

What You'll Work On

As a Principal Systems Integration Specialist, you'll be responsible for making sure complex diagnostic instruments, software, assays, and hardware components work together seamlessly as a complete system. You'll lead efforts to improve system performance, solve complex technical challenges, and develop innovative solutions that enhance product reliability, quality, and customer experience.

You'll work across multiple disciplines to define system requirements, evaluate customer needs, integrate new technologies, and ensure products meet performance, regulatory, and business objectives. You will also drive system-level testing, risk management, and performance optimization activities while serving as a key technical expert for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead system-level performance assessments, verification activities, and technical reviews to ensure products meet design requirements.
  • Partner with engineering teams to develop new technologies, validate concepts, and create innovative test methods and processes.
  • Investigate and resolve complex instrument, assay, and subsystem interaction issues through root cause analysis and data-driven problem solving.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on system architecture, subsystem integration, and product performance across the product portfolio.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Software, Assay Development, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Technical Support to drive successful product development.
  • Apply advanced data analysis, systems thinking, and quantitative methods to improve product performance, reliability, and quality.
  • Lead the development of system integration test strategies, troubleshooting methodologies, and process improvements.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and scientists through technical coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflows, processes, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead project planning activities, including timelines, resource allocation, budget considerations, and risk assessments.
  • Review and approve technical documentation, protocols, plans, and system-level deliverables.
  • Operate with a high degree of independence while providing technical leadership and strategic direction to project teams.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science or closely related discipline is necessary.
  • Recognized experience leading complex system and risk analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and utilize data to make decisions and influence stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Systems and / or Assay development principles and concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
  • Demonstrated Customer Focus, making their needs a primary focus of one's actions.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD +6 years of experience in Chemistry (Analytical, Physical or related), Engineering or other related degree preferred or 10 years of experience in Chemistry, Engineering or other related degree preferred.
  • Prior medical device (IVD) experience with knowledge of regulation and standards as they pertain principles and concepts of the design, integration, evaluation and commercialization of diagnostic systems.
  • Experience in application and analysis of multiple optimization process techniques: Setting targets, ranges and specs - DOE, Guard band, System Error Budget Analysis, Capability (CPk), Test Method development, determine functionality and system compatibility of multiple system components and troubleshooting of parts and subsystems.
  • Experience interpreting FMEA, hazards, modes of control for Risk Management.

The base pay for this position is
$99,300.00 - $198,700.00
