Principal, Strategy & Corporate Development

You Are

You bring years of experience translating complex strategic questions into clear, data-driven recommendations that inform executive decision-making. Your expertise lies in structuring ambiguous problems, building rigorous analyses, and delivering insights that withstand scrutiny at the highest levels of an organization.

Financial modeling is a core competency. You build P&L projections, market models, business cases, due diligence models, and valuation analyses with precision and speed. Your background in management consulting, private equity, or investment banking has equipped you with the discipline to deliver high-quality work under tight timelines with available information.

At Synopsys, you will contribute to the strategic decisions that shape the direction of an $8 billion global technology company. You will work with a high-performing team on high-impact initiatives that directly influence corporate priorities (e.g., mid/long-term corporate strategy, strategic M&A).

What You'll Be Doing
  • Define the company's overall medium/long-term ambitions and strategy through the annual corporate strategic planning process, including the analysis of the industry landscape and trends, competitive dynamics; assessment of the company's business portfolio; identification of business performance improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Corporate Development team in the definition of proactive, strategy-driven M&A plans and strategic partnerships. Drive due diligence on strategic acquisitions, and support cross-functional integration planning
  • Collaborate with Technology Innovation team to assess potential investments innew technologies/ businesses
  • Lead C-suite level projects to address specific strategic questions/issues/opportunities across businesses and functions as theyemerge, owning the end-to-end work process: frame the question/issue, structure an approach to address it, develop hypotheses, conductanalysesand articulate actionable recommendations
  • Partner with the BUs for the development of their respective business strategies,identifyingpriority initiatives and investments across product/engineering, go-to-market, and operations


  • Work cross-functionally to drive the operationalization of critical cross-unit strategic initiatives from set-up to impact,establishingstrategic KPIs and a program management structure
  • Support CEO, CSO, and other senior executives on strategy-related communications

  • Knowledge of theSemiconductor or Softwareindustry isvalued, but not a pre-requisite

The Team You'll Be Part Of

You will join the Corporate Strategy team which drives medium/long-term company strategic plan, high-impact strategic initiatives, due diligence on strategic acquisitions, and investment assessment of new businesses. The Corporate Strategy team is a part of Chief Strategy Officer's organization (Strategy and Corporate Development), which also includes Corporate Development / M&A, Market & Competitive Intelligence, Partnerships, Technology Innovation, and Government Affairs.
