Full Job Description
Moxie's finance function exists to make sure the company is set up to win over the long term - and this role is where that work starts. As we scale in a high-growth market, the questions in front of us (where to invest, how quickly to hire, which motions to double down on, how to close the gap between forecast and reality) all come down to the numbers, and this person will be the analytical force behind those decisions.

Reporting to Chrissy Lo, our CFO, you'll own the operating model and GMV/variance analysis that inform how we plan, allocate capital, and measure ourselves against our goals. This isn't a reporting seat buried in month-end close - it's the role that turns financial rigor into the recommendations leadership actually acts on, giving Moxie the visibility and discipline to grow responsibly and make faster, better-informed calls as we scale.

Our Objectives for the Role
  • Partner with our Controller to improve monthly budget-vs-actual analysis and reduce time to complete it, including building live dashboards for each department to drive timely visibility into spend across the organization
  • Own the forecasting and business review cadence, including variance analysis and board reporting that holds the company accountable to its plan
  • Take over ownership of our GMV forecasting model, partnering with BizOps to finalize methodology and data, and maintain it on an ongoing basis - including cohort-based modeling of provider launch performance and rate/volume decomposition of variances
  • Proactively flag emerging trends or risks before they show up as a miss, rather than only reporting on misses after the fact
  • Improve and document core financial processes (budget-vs-actual cadence, variance reporting, ROI frameworks) to increase both accuracy and efficiency over time
  • Act as a trusted partner to cross-functional leadersHelp identify opportunities to reduce cost to serve and improve unit economics as the business scales
  • Help stand up and implement our strategic finance tech stack, owning the rollout of new systems and the integrity of the data running through them
  • Begin to shape and pitch your own strategic initiatives - and support broader efforts like M&A - as the role evolves

We're Looking For
  • 6+ years of experience spanning investment banking, private equity, consulting, and high-growth startup finance
  • A highly analytical background, with at least one prior experience building or leading strategic finance functions at a startup
  • Someone who's able to operate as both the analyst and the advisor - equally comfortable building detailed models as they are influencing board narratives, planning cycles, and capital allocation decisions
  • A self-starter who can operate independently, build trust with cross-functional leaders, and drive process improvements rather than simply inheriting and maintaining them
  • Someone excited to make finance a strategic partner across the company, not a back-office function

Why Join Us?
  • Take ownership of the core financial infrastructure - forecasting, budget-vs-actual, ROI analysis - that determines how confidently Moxie can grow, and shape how the company understands its own trajectory
  • Your analysis will directly influence what gets funded and shape our growth story
  • Work alongside leaders who treat finance as a thought partner, where your read on the numbers carries real weight in the room
