The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team:

Do you want to be part of an exciting initiative to combine foundational IT with new digital technologies? The Enterprise Services team, part of the RTX Digital Technology function, delivers value through building foundational capabilities to enable data and AI for the enterprise. Collaborating with other developers, architects, leaders, and business units the team engineers and secures next generation of enterprise-wide data ecosystem for RTX. This work provides a competitive edge, solves business problems, and transforms our operations.

The Platform Engineer will design and implement the software and infrastructure that enable scalable and secure AI applications across RTX.

What You Will Do
  • Develop cloud-agnostic software that runs efficiently on AWS, Azure, and on-prem Kubernetes clusters to support enterprise-grade container orchestration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and successful solution delivery, leveraging workflows to maintain flow, transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Build internal SDKs, APIs, and microservices that support AI workflows across hybrid environments.
  • Write clean, testable, and efficient code with a strong emphasis on performance, scalability, maintainability, and comprehensive documentation to support long-term development and knowledge sharing.
  • Integrate platform tools with enterprise systems such as identity management, logging, and governance.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile ceremonies.
  • Collaborate across remote teams, working in a highly regulated, security-conscious environment.


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
  • 5+ years experience in Python and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • 5+ years experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, etc.).
  • Prior experience developing and maintaining reusable Helm charts, manifests, and deployment templates that promote consistency and portability across environments.


Qualifications We Prefer
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes (CI/CD), testing, and delivery for existing and new team products.
  • Ability to apply GitOps practices using Argo CD to manage cluster state, automate rollouts, and enforce declarative configuration across environments
  • Understanding of AI/ML tools, data, agent and API management platforms.
  • Additional languages: Node.js or Go.
  • DevOps methodologies, and AIOps strategies, championing containerization and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity, define technical direction, and drive end-to-end solutions.
  • Demonstrated deep technical curiosity and the initiative to dive into complex challenges.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
