Full Job Description
What You'll Do
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for hardware products and manufacturing services that support SimpliSafe's product roadmap, supply chain objectives, and long-term business goals.
  • Own executive-level relationships with key Contract Manufacturing (CM), Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM), driving alignment, performance, and long-term partnership development.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, independently leading sourcing initiatives, supplier engagements, negotiations, and cross-functional programs with minimal supervision while exercising sound business judgment and escalation management.
  • Lead supplier selection, qualification, and commercial negotiations for new products, technologies, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Drive end-to-end supplier performance management, establishing governance models, KPIs, and business review processes to improve cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and responsiveness.
  • Lead executive-level Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and escalation management with critical suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Manufacturing teams to influence product, sourcing, and supply chain decisions throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute multi-year cost reduction strategies through supplier negotiations, value engineering, design-to-cost initiatives, and supply base optimization.
  • Lead sourcing activities for New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring supplier readiness, capacity planning, risk mitigation, and achievement of launch schedule and cost targets.
  • Negotiate complex commercial agreements, including manufacturing service agreements, pricing structures, tooling investments, non-recurring engineering (NRE) costs, and strategic partnership terms.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain, geopolitical, capacity, and business continuity risks through proactive supplier and sourcing strategies.
  • Partner with regional sourcing teams, including Asia-based resources, to strengthen supplier engagement, improve sourcing processes, and drive operational excellence across the supply base.
  • Mentor and guide sourcing managers and cross-functional stakeholders, helping develop sourcing capabilities, best practices, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to identify new sourcing opportunities, technologies, and competitive advantages for SimpliSafe.

  • Experience working with Asian manufacturers and traveling to manufacturing sites. Ability to travel internationally 15%
  • Bachelor's Degree in ME, EE, IE, Business, or Supply Chain Management

  • Language skills with the ability to speak/read Mandarin/Chinese

The target annual base pay range for this role is $121,400 to $161,800

This target annual base pay range represents our good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role. We use a market-based compensation approach to set our target annual base pay ranges and make adjustments annually. We carefully tailor individual compensation packages, including base pay, taking into consideration employees' job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and other relevant business factors.
