Job Summary

The Principal Solutions Architect leads the design and development of innovative technical solutions for large-scale federal and defense projects. This role collaborates with capture, business development, engineering, and operations teams to develop enterprise IT strategies, cloud architectures, cybersecurity solutions, AI/ML initiatives, DevSecOps practices, and digital modernization programs. The position also supports long-term technology roadmaps, evaluates emerging technologies, and serves as a trusted technical advisor during customer engagements and proposal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical solution development for large federal and defense opportunities.
  • Serve as the technical lead for capture, proposal, and business development efforts.
  • Design enterprise IT architectures and scalable technical solutions.
  • Translate customer mission requirements into practical technology strategies.
  • Conduct solution design workshops, architecture reviews, and technical planning sessions.
  • Develop cloud, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, AI/ML, automation, and digital modernization solutions.
  • Support corporate technology strategy and service capability development.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Develop reusable technical frameworks and standardized solution approaches.
  • Communicate technical concepts to executives, customers, and engineering teams.
  • Represent the organization during technical presentations and customer engagements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful solution delivery.

Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, systems engineering, or technical leadership.
  • Experience leading technical solutions for large federal projects.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise IT, cloud computing, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, AI/ML, automation, and digital transformation.
  • Experience collaborating with capture, proposal, business development, and operational teams.
  • Strong leadership, technical writing, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting DoD, Navy, or Federal Civilian agencies.
  • Experience with enterprise cloud modernization and cybersecurity transformation.
  • Experience leading high-value federal proposal and capture efforts.
  • Ability to advise executive leadership on enterprise technology strategies.
