Full Job Description
Are you an IT leader who has helped transform a large organization using public cloud platforms and generative AI? Can you work equally well with executives and technologists, leading high-visibility, high-impact projects that are technically broad and deep? Are you excited about introducing lean transformation models, and modern AI-driven operating models, to traditional enterprise organizations? Do you have experience leading business transformation across diverse enterprise teams, driving change and business value at enterprise scale? Would you like to help the largest Private Equity (PE) firms and their portfolio companies leverage generative AI and cloud technology to improve their operations, accelerate value creation, and drive EBITDA growth across the portfolio? Would you like to use your IT leadership experience to build relationships with technical leaders, C-level executives, and influencers at all levels across the PE segment? Would you like to be part of a cross-functional team that supports specific PE firms and be a key contributor to their portfolio companies' move to the cloud and adoption of generative AI? In this role you will work directly with Private Equity firms, their portfolio companies, and consulting partners to drive the adoption of technology, including generative AI, agentic AI, and foundation-model-based solutions, that will allow them to achieve their desired operational and financial business outcomes. You should enjoy learning and introducing new technology in order to help customers, colleagues, and partners embrace and adopt it. You will provide thought leadership in terms of looking beyond the technology and considering the value that technology creates for our customers, particularly how generative AI reshapes cost structures, "AI tokenomics," and operating leverage across a PE portfolio. You will enable the AWS Business Development and Sales teams to more effectively drive their day-to-day interactions with key prospects, and you will help shape how AWS's GenAI stack, including Amazon Bedrock, foundation models, and agentic and Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) motions, is positioned within the PE segment. The ideal candidate will possess a technical background that enables them to drive customer engagement with business, finance, or IT executives at the highest levels of our PE customers. You will have the presence and capability to communicate the benefits of cloud computing and generative AI to application architects, enterprise architects, platform architects, infrastructure architects and engineers, data scientists and ML practitioners, and enterprise security and compliance teams. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and long-term about the needs of businesses, and be deeply familiar with complex, legacy IT environments, including applications, middleware, storage, networks, information security, and operations, as well as modern AI/ML architectures and generative AI application patterns. GenAI Fluency (Key Differentiator) - Demonstrated fluency with generative AI concepts and the ability to translate them into business value for PE firms and their portfolio companies (cost takeout, revenue growth, operating leverage, and "AI tokenomics"). - Hands-on familiarity with the modern GenAI stack: foundation models, Amazon Bedrock, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI patterns, model selection/routing, and open-weight vs. proprietary model trade-offs. - Ability to advise C-level and technical audiences on responsible AI, data strategy, security, and governance for enterprise-grade GenAI deployments. - Experience shaping or supporting AI-driven transformation and Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) style engagements that put GenAI into production at scale. Key job responsibilities • Partner with Private Equity leaders and portfolio company executives to develop and execute cloud transformation strategies that drive value creation and align with investment theses. • Provide technical leadership across portfolio companies' cloud initiatives, including architecture reviews, technology stack optimization, and application modernization. • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to PE firm leadership on technology due diligence, value creation opportunities, and digital transformation initiatives. • Drive standardization and best practices across portfolio companies by establishing cloud centers of excellence and developing reusable architecture patterns. • Guide portfolio company technical leaders on technology roadmap development, cloud migration strategies, and infrastructure automation. • Identify and implement GenAI solutions to enhance operational efficiency, create new revenue streams, and drive innovation across portfolio companies. • Contribute to the PE technology community through thought leadership, speaking engagements, and industry forum participation, with a focus on emerging technologies and value creation through cloud and AI adoption. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 10+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent - Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing - Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent - Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent - Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent - Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers - Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud The base salary range for this position is listed below.
