Link Solutions is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to join our team in supporting our strategic growth initiatives and enterprise capability development in McLean, VA.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have ten (10+) years experience leading technical solution development for large, complex federal pursuits
  • Must be on-site in McLean, VA every Wednesday; local candidates preferred

The Principal Solutions Architect will lead the development of innovative, mission-focused technical solutions supporting priority federal and defense pursuits. This individual will serve as the technical lead across capture, proposal, business development, operational, and engineering teams, helping shape differentiated solutions and long-term technical strategy.

The role requires a forward-thinking technologist with deep expertise across enterprise IT, cloud, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, AI/ML, automation, and modernization initiatives. In addition, a demonstrated ability to rapidly evaluate emerging technologies, translate them into practical mission capabilities, and develop differentiated technical solutions supporting both strategic pursuits and corporate capability development.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of innovative, compliant, and executable technical solutions supporting strategic federal and defense opportunities.
  • Serve as the technical lead for priority captures and proposals, partnering with capture, business development, proposal, operational, and engineering teams.
  • Translate customer mission requirements into differentiated technical architectures, delivery strategies, and scalable operational solutions.
  • Drive technical solutioning sessions, architecture reviews, and collaborative workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure proposed solutions balance innovation, technical maturity, operational feasibility, cost realism, and competitive differentiation.
  • Support the evolution of our company's technical capabilities, service offerings, and strategic technology roadmaps.
  • Identify and assess emerging technologies, market trends, and mission requirements to support corporate growth objectives.
  • Develop reusable solution components and standardized approaches that improve delivery efficiency, scalability, and competitive positioning.
  • Provide technical leadership across cloud, cybersecurity, AI/ML, automation, DevSecOps, digital modernization, and enterprise IT transformation initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical applications aligned with customer missions and business priorities.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to executives, engineers, customers, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Represent the company as a trusted technical advisor during customer engagements, technical exchanges, oral presentations, and strategic growth activities.

Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • Ten (10+) years of experience in solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, systems engineering, or related technical leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical solution development for large, complex federal pursuits, preferably valued between $50M and $500M+.
  • Experience supporting DoD, Navy, Federal Civilian, or other federal agency environments.
  • Proven experience developing technical strategies and solutions aligned to federal mission and modernization objectives.
  • Deep familiarity with enterprise technologies, cloud ecosystems, cybersecurity principles, DevSecOps practices, data architectures, and emerging technology trends.
  • Experience collaborating with capture, proposal, business development, and operational teams in a federal contracting environment.
  • Experience developing differentiated technical approaches and competitive solution strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage executive leadership, customers, and technical teams.

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting large federal growth organizations and strategic capture programs.
  • Experience with cloud modernization, cybersecurity transformation, AI/ML, DevSecOps, and enterprise digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting high-value, competitive federal pursuits and proposal efforts.
  • Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, customers, and growth teams.
