Job Description:

Principal Scientist Data & Analytics, Design to Value

The Principal Scientist - Data & Analytics will be a foundational member of the newly established Design to Value (DtV) team within Mars Snacking Global R&D. This role exists to unlock enterprise-wide value by leveraging data to identify, quantify, and guide value creation initiatives across raw materials, packaging, recipes, and process. The successful candidate will drive insights generation, reporting, and analytics that inform strategic decisions and enable sustained productivity savings, growth, and sustainability outcomes.

What are we looking for?
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in data analytics, within CPG, manufacturing, or consulting environments.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Advanced experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), statistical analysis, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with productivity, sustainability, and value creation metrics.
  • Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams and matrixed organizations.


What would your key responsibilities be?
  • Lead strategic insight generation by synthesizing complex datasets into actionable intelligence that guides portfolio optimization and value creation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to support prioritization, opportunity sizing, and performance tracking across multiple value levers.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (R&D, Supply, Commercial, Finance, Demand) to define data needs and translate business challenges into analytical frameworks.
  • Contribute to the development of the DtV capability by codifying best practices and enabling networked learning across regions.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across projects and support governance processes
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders to influence decision-making and resource allocation.


The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 119,040.00 - USD 163,680.00
