Full Job Description
Principal Resource Geologist, you will join one of the largest, dynamic and experienced teams of resource geologists globally. Our projects encompass a wide spectrum, including geological modeling, statistical analysis, and resource estimation and reporting for various metals and depositional environments.

You will bring demonstrated skills and experience with mineral resource/geological modelling (experience with Leapfrog is a must), exploration and project reviews. In addition to strong technical skills, you'll also have a solid background in report writing, in the development of technical scopes of work, proposal preparation, and the successful delivery of projects, meeting high standards for quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Development of geological models or interpretations
  • Construction of block models for mineral resource and mineral reserve estimates
  • Participation in the preparation of NI 43-101 Reports or international equivalents
  • Perform due diligence reviews to support project financing, and mergers and acquisitions
  • Project management, including leadership of other geologists and third-party consulting groups
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological findings and interpretations with those of other scientific, planning, and engineering disciplines
  • Ensuring successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction
  • Prepare proposals and contribute to the development and execution of service line, business sector, and client business development plans
  • Liaise and build relationships with clients and ensure excellent service delivery
  • Mentor junior geologists and participate in internal and external training/mentorship opportunities

  • The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
  • 15-20+ years of minerals exploration, operation, and resource estimation.
  • Certification as a Qualified Person (QP) is required
  • Experienced in geostatistics and estimation methods (such as but not limited to ordinary kriging, inverse distance weighting)
  • Experienced in modelling various commodities in a variety of geological terranes, including Carlin, porphyry, and skarn. Multi-commodity experience in precious metals and base metals
  • Proficiency in 3D Mine Modeling software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, MinePlan, Datamine, or MicroMine.
  • Experienced in geological and block modelling, domaining, grade capping, and QA/QC
  • Authorship or co-authorship of SK 1300 and/or NI 43-101 Technical Reports, or other CRIRSCO standard reports
  • Familiarity with resource classification, cutoff grade development, and application of modifying factors
  • Professional certifications or organizations (CPG, SME-RM, MMSA) desired
  • Experience with audits, due diligence, and third-party reviews preferred
  • Advanced skills in Excel or Access (or other database tools)
  • Strong project management skills for handling large-scale projects
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Spanish is advantageous
