Full Job Description
RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: No relocation assistance available CLEARANCE REQUIRED FOR START: No CLEARANCE TYPE: None TRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the Time Northrop Grumman is seeking to hire a Principal Quality Engineer to join the Grand Sky Mission Assurance team.  This position will be located in Emerado, ND, candidate must live in ND or be willing to relocate to ND. Essential Functions: - Supports RangeHawk program by investigating supplier caused issues and provide solutions on resultant actions to mitigate escape and impact on the shop floor. - Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management. Supports program in evaluation and monitoring supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. - Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures. - Works effectively with suppliers for problem resolution using RCCA tools and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues. - Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases. - Issues, monitors and maintains corrective actions for supplier related product/process issues. - Interface with program, MRB and customer on supplier reported issues, impact and resolutions strategies. - Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, Lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. - Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards.  Monitors and presents manufacturing performance metrics to Cost Center Operational and Program Management leaders and recommends, based on metric trends, training focus areas that will support scheduled deliverables. - Reviews, analyzes, and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, hydraulic and fuel system lines, and electrical & electro-mechanical systems. - Investigates problems and develops corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.  Recommend preventative process and procedural changes to prevent defects. - Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelors of Science Degree with 5 years of experience in Quality; or Masters of Science Degree with 3 years of experience in Quality; or PhD with 1 year of experience in Quality. - Must have strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Edge and other office systems experience. Develop, collect, and track metrics for process health and performance monitoring. - Experience developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining quality evaluation & control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. - Experience editing, reviewing and implementing methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. - Experience performing quality system audits for deficiency identification and correction. - Ability to apply problem solving/critical thinking skills to support and resolve quality issues. - Demonstrated knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 requirements. Preferred Qualifications: - Demonstrated written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills - Experience in developing or reviewing Root Cause / Corrective Action activities. - Experience with writing Material Review Board Discrepancies and Dispositions. - Extensive experience working with aerospace/defense industry suppliers onsite. - General experience with special processes - Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action - Six Sigma or Lean certifications Primary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
