OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Principal Electrical Quality Control Engineer (Electrical I&C Inspector) to contribute to our mission supporting our work at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions in Aiken, SC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct quality control engineers assigned to perform inspections and surveillance in support of project work and/or maintenance activities.
- Provide quality control support to construction management and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results.
- Establish priorities which support construction/operations needs. Resolve complex problems which develop during the implementation of quality activities by coordinating with internal and external departments.
- Provide leadership which inspires efficient performance of assignments, safe work habits, timely exchange of information and each individuals' commitment to site policies.
- Participate in contract discussions relating to quality activities.
- Prepare comprehensive status reports for construction quality activities. Review and approve subcontractors quality procedures and monitor their adherence to those procedures.
- Coordinate the activities of assigned quality control engineers and with other constructiondepartments to ensure that construction is in compliance with site specifications and standards.
- Prepare quality procedures to ensure proper inspection, testing and surveillance activities are being performed.
- Provide effective quality training programs and ensure assigned personnel are qualified to perform assigned tasks.
- Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related toelectrical and I&C, in accordance with Design Output documents, Codes, and Standards.
- Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans.
- Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue Non-Conformance reports as required.
- Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment
- Prepare performance evaluations of assigned personnel.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 8 - 10 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas.
- An Associate's degree and 10 - 12 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent.
- A high school diploma and 12 - 16 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent.
- Certification in areas of responsibility are required with ongoing programmatic training per the requirements of the project quality program.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 8-10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Well-developed organizational and supervisory skills and good communication talents.(required)
- Prior work experience working under an ASME NQA-1 quality program (required)
- Prior DOE work experience (required)
- Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship. (required)
- Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance. (required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
