Principal Project Manager (Principal Associate)

We are seeking a Principal Project Manager who is passionate about masterfully managing cross-functional stakeholders and balancing project scope and timelines. In this exciting role, you will independently execute critical and strategic business projects that drive meaningful business outcomes. Partnering closely with key leaders and forward-thinking peers, you will have the opportunity to push the boundaries of your project leadership, turn big ideas into reality, and excel alongside the brightest talent in the industry.

What You’ll Do:

  • Quickly ramp up on emerging domains and bring structure to complex, ambiguous problems to deliver high-impact outcomes.

  • Execute large and small-scale projects that contribute to broader business initiatives

  • Drive projects based on defined priorities while ensuring scope of deliverables, timelines, and budgets are met

  • Identify risks and issues, mitigating and escalating them as needed to manage project impacts

  • Plan, design, manage, and execute project plans through feasibility, design, planning, and implementation

  • Leverage problem-solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation

  • Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of commitments

  • Identify ways to improve and streamline business processes

  • Quickly put structure in place to manage work and demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands

  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills to interact with stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes

  • Display strong consulting and collaboration skills to ensure successful project delivery

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 5 years of Project Management, Process Management or Chief of Staff experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA)

  • 6+ years of Project Management experience, Process Management or Chief of Staff experience

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

  • Experience using generative AI tools to drive workflow automation and enhance deliverable quality.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
