Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring a Principal Project Manager to support integration efforts across multiple subcontract management team(s) within an Agile development environment in Melbourne, FL.

The successful candidate is expected to be a highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter able to work collaboratively with internal and external teams in high-tempo environments.

This role will require excellent organization and task prioritization skills to manage team rhythm, planning, and reporting while balancing competing priorities. This individual should possess team building capabilities and have strong interpersonal skills. The candidate for this position will be expected to gain knowledge of company, sector, and program processes and operating procedures and be able to implement these standards across the program. Must possess solid organization abilities and be a motivated, adaptable team player. Some travel may be required.

This role is in person supporting 9/80 work schedule at our Melbourne, FL site and requires an active or in scope security clearance to start.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and performance goals and objectives.

  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving within the team.

  • Supporting the Supplier Management Team (SMT) and Program day-to-day rhythm to keep all affected parties informed of progress, changes and issues

  • Facilitation of meetings, resulting actions, and any associated deliverables, including supplier, customer, and leadership meetings.

  • Assist in program planning events, customer reviews, supplier visits, and engagement events

  • Participate in contractual and technical meetings, taking detailed notes/actions to facilitate continual progress

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand the business goals, objectives, rules and any additional requirements

  • Capturing, tracking, and providing visibility into/ reporting on action items

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience; OR a master's degree with 3 years of experience.  Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions.

  • Experience creating and delivering presentations or strategic reports

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment

  • Experience in Earned Value Management, which includes program cost and schedule management

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Current in scope US Government Secret Clearance and the ability to attain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time deemed by business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and first-time quality

  • Ability to organize, balance, and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a highly dynamic aerospace environment

  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems requiring the use of ingenuity, creativity, and participation of internal and/or external personnel & teams

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to ensure changes to plans are fully understood

  • Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite, specifically Jira and Confluence

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
