About the Role
Join the BAE Systems Minneapolis Weapon Systems Test Team as a Principal Product Support Specialist focusing on electronics. In this role, you will be a technical linchpin, providing expertise in electronics systems for everything from cutting-edge prototypes to proven, fielded systems. We offer a culture of autonomy and trust, where self-starters are empowered to take ownership of their work and drive mission success. This position offers a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.

What You'll Do:
  • Solve Complex Problems: Use your analytical skills to identify technical hurdles and collaborate with stakeholders to implement robust solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead the troubleshooting of high and low voltage electronics and the installation of sophisticated data acquisition systems.
  • Data-Driven Results: Execute test procedures, analyze critical data, and author the technical reports that guide our programs forward.
  • Quality Assurance: Champion product assurance initiatives and ensure success during internal and customer audits.
  • Customer Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to customers, resolving technical challenges through clear and effective communication.
  • Physical Requirements: This role requires regular presence in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The incumbent must be able to access and safely navigate production areas which may include climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working in confined spaces. Must also be able to comply with all requirements including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy.


Required Skills and Education

  • Associate's Degree and 8+ years of defense-related experience in engineering, manufacturing, or field service or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to take ownership, lead project teams and execute tasks independently.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to communicate complex technical solutions to customers.
  • Ability to maintain an organized, meticulous approach within a highly dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to accept field assignments and travel 20-30% as required.
  • Proficiency in instrumentation/gauges and data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills; proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).


Preferred Skills and Education

  • Experience providing expertise in electronics systems for prototypes and fielded systems.
  • Expertise in electrical/mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repair.
  • Hands-on experience in the integration, assembly, test, and checkout of complex systems.
  • Direct experience in weapons systems development.
  • Knowledge of precision machine tool processing and fabrication.
