Overview
Responsibilities

We're looking for an experienced, results-driven Principal Product Manager to help lead core jobs to be done in the Focus app within Atlassian's Strategy Collection product management team. Strategy Collection is Atlassian’s “roof of the house” for the Atlassian System of Work, aligning company strategy to execution. This role will shape how Focus helps leaders and teams define priorities, connect work to outcomes, understand progress, and make high-quality decisions across the organization.

You will define product strategy, roadmap priorities, and an operating cadence for core Focus capabilities across planning, goal-setting, reporting, insights, collaboration, administration, and integrations. This is a hands-on, highly cross-functional role that requires strong product judgment, customer empathy, enterprise SaaS depth, and the ability to influence product, engineering, design, platform, data, GTM, and executive stakeholders. This role reports directly to the Head of Product of Strategy Collection.

Responsibilities
  • Define and own the Focus product vision, roadmap, and operating plan for the relevant jobs to be done within Strategy Collection, translating customer, market, and business needs into clear priorities and shipped outcomes.

  • Lead AI-native product building for Focus by applying AI across discovery, synthesis, prototyping, experimentation, evaluation, launch planning, and post-launch learning.

  • Identify and prioritize high-impact AI and automation opportunities across Focus workflows, including insights, recommendations, progress monitoring, workflow assistance, and decision support.

  • Prioritize work based on customer impact, adoption, revenue growth, strategic differentiation, product quality, and long-term value for teams and organizations using Focus.

  • Drive critical cross-functional initiatives with engineering, design, platform, data, research, GTM, support, and partner teams to improve how Focus helps customers align strategy, goals, teams, programs, and execution.

  • Translate complex customer and business needs into pragmatic product decisions that balance near-term adoption with scale, usability, trust, extensibility, and admin control.

  • Apply AI fluency and product judgment to define quality bars for AI-powered experiences, including evals, human-in-the-loop workflows, trust mechanisms, permissions, transparency, and responsible governance.

  • Use customer evidence, market feedback, account data, product telemetry, competitive insights, and AI-assisted analysis to size opportunities, make tradeoffs, and communicate investment decisions.

  • Create clear executive-ready narratives on current state, top opportunities, roadmap choices, and progress against outcomes; proactively escalate risks to customer trust, product quality, or business goals.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, including significant ownership of enterprise SaaS products, strategy/portfolio management products, collaboration products, or complex product areas with multiple dependent teams.

  • Demonstrated AI fluency and experience applying AI-native product building practices across discovery, synthesis, prototyping, experimentation, requirements definition, evaluation, and launch learning.

  • 0-to-1 product development is required; candidates should also be able to co-build with customers and manage senior-level stakeholders on the customer side.

  • Experience building or shipping AI/ML-powered product capabilities, with working knowledge of LLMs, agentic workflows, prompt design, retrieval patterns, evals, and responsible AI product quality practices.

  • Proven ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives with high executive visibility, turning broad customer and business problems into focused product strategy and execution plans.

  • Strong enterprise SaaS fluency across product strategy, customer discovery, data-informed decision making, administration, governance, integrations, adoption, and scaled operations.

  • Experience building capabilities that help customers plan, prioritize, align, report on progress, collaborate across teams, or connect strategy to execution at organizational scale.

  • Exceptional customer, market, and business judgment, with the ability to synthesize executive, customer, GTM, support, partner, telemetry, and competitive signals into clear priorities.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including crisp executive narratives, clear operating plans, and the ability to influence stakeholders without relying on formal authority.

  • Track record of driving teams from ambiguity to execution: defining scope, owners, success metrics, milestones, risks, and decision points.

  • Experience with Atlassian products, strategy/portfolio management, OKRs, enterprise collaboration products, analytics/insights products, partner-led implementation motions.
