Full Job Description
Lead acquisition is the top of that funnel and it is the job our customers care about most. Today the toolkit is a popup form. It works, but it is blunt. It captures an email address and nothing else. Meanwhile every visitor who lands on a small business website arrives with real intent, real context, and real questions that never get captured.

We think there is a fundamentally better answer. The Conversational Acquisition Agent turns a small business website into a 24/7 lead capture engine: an AI agent that understands the business, holds a genuine conversation with a visitor, qualifies them, and hands a rich, ready-to-work lead back into Mailchimp. Building on Intuit's decade-long investment in AI, this is a new product category for Mailchimp and one of our biggest bets for the year ahead.

We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to own it end to end - the visitor experience, the setup experience, and the connection back into the Mailchimp audience, automations, and reporting that turn a captured lead into revenue.

Responsibilities

As our Principal PM for Conversational Acquisition, you'll:

  • Own the product end to end - Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Conversational Acquisition Agent, from today's multi-tenant test agents through customer testing and general availability.
  • Design a conversation worth having - Shape the visitor experience so it feels like a helpful, on-brand conversation, not the website chat widgets people have learned to ignore.
  • Make setup effortless for the business owner - Build a setup experience where a small business can stand up an agent that reflects their brand and their conversion goals in minutes, with no services engagement required.
  • Close the loop back into Mailchimp - Make sure every captured lead lands as a real contact with the context attached, ready for segmentation, automation, and follow-up.
  • Hold the quality and trust bar - Own agent behavior, guardrails, tenant isolation, and reliability, partnering with Legal and Engineering on what it takes to put an agent safely in front of customers.
  • Drive the hard calls - Sequence and resolve the open questions on delivery surface, engineering staffing, lead destination, and legal review rather than waiting for them to clear on their own.
  • Be deeply customer-led - Partner with research, data science, and support to understand what actually converts, and test rapidly with real customers.
  • Set the measurement bar - Define success in terms of leads captured per visitor, conversation completion, setup completion, and the downstream value of the contacts created.
  • Influence beyond your own product - Partner with the ecommerce, Forms, and Audience teams so conversational acquisition strengthens the wider lead acquisition story, and mentor PMs on AI-first product thinking.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of Product Management experience in a top tech company, MarTech company, or innovative technology startup, with a focus on B2B SaaS.
  • A zero-to-one track record - you have taken a new product from an idea to real customers, and you know how to de-risk cheaply before you commit to a build.
  • Practical AI product fluency - you can reason about agent behavior, guardrails, and failure modes, and you know the difference between a demo that impresses in a meeting and a product that survives real customers.
  • Enough technical depth to prototype - comfortable building a working prototype yourself and holding a credible architecture conversation with engineering.
  • Strong customer research instincts - you talk to customers before you commit, and you can turn what you hear into a sharp product decision.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with the ability to set a clear vision and hold a line on scope across a program with many interested stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a data-informed approach to decision making and experimentation.
  • Comfort with ambiguity - you can operate in an area with open legal, staffing, and platform questions, and sequence them instead of stalling on them.
  • Bonus: experience with lead generation, conversational or messaging products, or marketing automation platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; MBA or software engineering background is a plus.
