Full Job Description
Guides the development, innovation, and optimization of Magellan's diverse product portfolio by providing strategic leadership across the full product lifecycle. Oversees the formal design and governance of the product development process, ensuring products advance effectively from concept through launch, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance. Drives measurable business, clinical, and financial outcomes by translating market needs, regulatory requirements, and organizational priorities into high-impact product strategies. Works cross functionally with clinical leaders, operations, marketing, sales, technology, and compliance to ensure products improve member outcomes, drive growth, and align with Magellan's mission.
  • Product Strategy & Leadership: Defines and executes the product development roadmap aligned with organizational goals, clinical standards, and market demand, and leads the end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution of assigned products, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and measurable business, clinical, and financial outcomes. Identifies and executes initiatives that enhance product efficiency, scalability, and competitiveness within the product portfolio and leads and mentors product managers, analysts, and cross-functional project teams. (25%)
  • Product Development & Lifecycle Management: Conducts market, customer, and competitive analyses to drive innovation and inform product differentiation, pricing, and long-term growth opportunities across assigned product areas, including service, digital, and hybrid. Oversees the full product lifecycle, from concept and validation through launch, optimization, and retirement, ensuring clarity, discipline, and strategic alignment. Develops and maintains core product artifacts, including business cases, requirements, project plans, and implementation materials, that support consistent, repeatable execution. Ensures all products and services meet regulatory, accreditation, and payer requirements. (30%)
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution: Serves as a key product liaison across the organization, leading and providing strategic direction to multidisciplinary teams to ensure unified launch and execution of product strategies and initiatives. Leads multidisciplinary teams by providing strategic direction, resolving cross-functional barriers, and ensuring alignment around priorities, timelines, and outcomes. Influences decision-making across a complex matrix environment by driving clarity, facilitating consensus, and ensuring stakeholders remain aligned to product goals and enterprise priorities. (30%)
  • Performance Measurement & Data Insights: Establishes and monitors product performance metrics, dashboards, market feedback and evaluation mechanisms to measure business, clinical, and financial impact to identify improvement opportunities and inform future enhancements or strategic pivots. Delivers clear, actionable insights and presentations to leadership that translate product performance into recommendations guiding prioritization and planning. (15%)
