Full Job Description
We are looking for a designer responsible for the development of innovative, leading-edge GaN based RF products. This will involve designing RF PA products using GaN technologies. The designer will implement electrical designs in a variety of low cost and thermally efficient package platforms, such as overmold, laminate and metal base, air cavity. The position will use design tools such as Keysight ADS and Cadence-MWO and EM simulators such as AXIEM, Momentum, Analyst and HFSS. The designer must have good communication and presentation skills to hold design reviews and discuss design architectures and approach with the team. Work will also include design and development of RF modules using advanced GaN technologies. You will be a key member of an integrated product development team that includes marketing, program management, mechanical engineering, product engineering, package engineering, test engineering, applications engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality and reliability, and senior management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Technical lead role for RF discrete transistor & module-based product development.
• Discrete transistor & module design using linear and nonlinear models and 2.5D and 3D electromagnetic simulators.
• Convert simulated product designs into physical assembly drawings.
• Develop PA reference designs for sampling to customers
• Manage product checkout, optimization, and design verification testing in the test lab.
• Execute verification test analysis and present results to the internal customer.
• Provide technical input for product datasheets
• Support product through critical lifecycle stages including concept/feasibility, development, qualification, and production.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS Electrical Engineering with preferred curriculum emphasis in RF or Microwave technology with 12+ years experience
• Must be willing to work under high expectations of performance and have dedication to solving the given problem
• Experience with design tools ADS and Cadence-MWO and EM simulators such as AXIEM, Momentum, Analyst and HFSS
• Must be knowledgeable in III-V semiconductor operation and application
• RF/Microwave design experience with GaN, HBT, or LDMOS RF technologies, prior MMIC design highly desirable
• Experience using and understanding of vector network analyzers, signal analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, and load pull systems
• Ability to operate lab testing with minimal oversight while ensuring safety of personnel and equipment
• Ability to provide direction efficiently and effectively to lab technicians
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to concisely summarize highly technical concepts.
• Strong ability to meet product technical needs and schedules.
• Able to multi-task and work within cross-functional groups
