Acting as the bridge between the medical community and Baxter, you'll drive scientific engagement, shape evidence-generation strategies, and help advance the clinical value of our Frontline Care portfolio.

This highly visible field-based role is ideal for a seasoned MSL who thrives on building meaningful partnerships, translating complex science into clinical impact, and influencing strategy through customer insights. In addition to leading scientific engagement across your region, you'll contribute to national initiatives, mentor colleagues, and help shape the future direction of our Medical Affairs organization.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead peer-to-peer scientific discussions focused on clinical evidence, disease-state management, and Baxter's diagnostic and monitoring solutions.

  • Identify and develop emerging thought leaders while maintaining strategic engagement plans and insights within CRM platforms.

  • Represent Baxter at national and regional conferences, advisory boards, and scientific forums through presentations and expert interactions.

Advance Research & Clinical Evidence

  • Identify unmet clinical needs, research opportunities, and evidence gaps that can drive innovation and improve patient outcomes.

  • Support investigator-initiated studies by evaluating concepts, assessing feasibility, and facilitating collaboration with research sites.

  • Partner with Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, HEOR, Regulatory, and R&D teams to support study execution, publications, and scientific communication strategies.

Drive Clinical Education & Scientific Excellence

  • Deliver tailored scientific education that highlights clinical utility, best practices, outcomes data, and real-world applications of Baxter technologies.

  • Support product launches by serving as a credible scientific resource for healthcare professionals and health systems.

  • Share clinical expertise with internal teams through disease-state education and scientific training initiatives.

Influence Strategy Through Collaboration

  • Bring the voice of customers and field insights back to the organization to inform medical strategy, product development, and future innovation.

  • Collaborate across Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, HEOR, Regulatory, and Clinical teams to ensure scientific strategies align with patient and business needs.

  • Help demonstrate both the clinical and economic value of Frontline Care solutions to healthcare systems and key stakeholders.

Lead, Mentor & Shape the Future

  • Mentor and support the development of newer MSL team members through coaching, onboarding, and knowledge sharing.

  • Contribute to regional and national Medical Affairs initiatives, strategic planning efforts, and best-practice development.

  • Serve as a recognized subject matter expert and role model for scientific excellence, compliance, and field execution.

What you'll bring:

Education

  • Advanced degree in a health science or related discipline required.

  • MD, DO, PA, NP, DNP, RN, or equivalent advanced clinical degree strongly preferred.

  • Candidates with an MS, MPH, or comparable degree and substantial relevant experience may also be considered.

Experience

  • 8+ years of Medical Science Liaison experience within medical devices, diagnostics, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals.

  • Demonstrated success building influential KOL relationships and leading high-value scientific engagements.

  • Experience in point-of-care diagnostics, patient monitoring, cardiology, critical care, or related clinical specialties strongly preferred.

  • Previous Senior, Lead, or Principal MSL experience is a plus.

Skills & Expertise

  • Ability to interpret, synthesize, and communicate complex scientific and clinical data to diverse audiences.

  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate scientific insights into meaningful action.

  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Experience working independently in a field-based environment while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (such as Veeva), virtual engagement tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements and industry regulations governing HCP interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical practice experience in emergency medicine, cardiology, primary care, acute care, or critical care settings.

  • Experience supporting the launch of medical device or diagnostic innovations.

  • Familiarity with health economics, outcomes research, and value-based care models.

  • Experience supporting clinical research, publications, or scientific communications.

  • Established professional network within relevant therapeutic areas.
