Position Description:

This role serves as the technical authority for mechanical packaging, system integration, and reliability engineering supporting data center connectivity and infrastructure solutions.

This role partners closely with customers, engineering teams, and solution architects to translate design intent into manufacturable, scalable, and reliable products. The Mechanical Architect will develop integrated system solutions while identifying opportunities to improve performance, quality, manufacturability, serviceability, and time-to-market.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical architecture and packaging design for data center hardware and interconnect solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand application requirements, environmental conditions, and operational constraints.
  • Develop mechanical design concepts supporting product functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Partner with electrical, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure subsystem integration and design alignment.
  • Conduct design reviews, failure analysis, and root-cause investigations.
  • Evaluate materials, thermal performance, structural integrity, and environmental considerations.
  • Support new product introduction and product lifecycle management activities.
  • Develop design standards, best practices, and engineering guidelines.
  • Review supplier capabilities and manufacturing processes to ensure successful product execution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product quality, cost, and delivery performance.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of mechanical design and product development experience.
  • Experience supporting data center infrastructure, electronics packaging, connectivity products, or related technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, tolerance analysis, thermal management, and reliability engineering.
  • Experience utilizing CAD and simulation tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with DFMA, FMEA, and reliability testing methodologies.
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure and interconnect technologies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional product development initiatives.
