Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Principal IT Architect - CPQ & Pricing to lead the architecture strategy and design of our enterprise finance technology landscape. This role serves as the technical authority for all CPQ & Pricing related IT systems including SAP CPQ, Pros Pricing and ERP VC set ups. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in CPQ domain, a strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, and a proven track record of delivering scalable, resilient solutions in complex, global environments.

You will report directly to our Director of IT Enterprise Architecture and you'll work out of our Charlotte, NC location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Hybrid Work Schedule Note: For the first 90 days New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Architecture & Strategy
  • Define, own, and evolve the enterprise architecture roadmap for CPQ and Pricing IT systems, ensuring alignment with business strategy and technology best practices.
  • Lead end-to-end solution architecture across commercial technologies with primary focus on CPQ and Pricing
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies that drive efficiency, compliance, and innovation across finance functions.
  • Establish architecture governance standards, design principles, and guardrails for the finance technology domain.

CPQ/Pricing Leadership
  • Serve as the principal architect for CPQ & Pricing with deep, hands-on experience across core modules including SAP CPQ, PROS Pricing, SAP Variant Configuration
  • Lead full-cycle SAP CPQ, Pricing implementations from architect side and look for opportunities for technology solution improvements, performance improvements etc.
  • Architect and govern the design, ensuring alignment GDM owners
  • Define integration architecture between SAP CPQ, Salesforce, ERP systems
  • Drive adoption of SAP CPQ and work actively on technology/implementations changes to improve performance

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
  • Act as a trusted advisor to commercial, and business leadership, translating complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide a team of solution architects, technical leads, and engineers within the CPQ and Pricing technology domain.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, security architects, and data architects to ensure coherent cross-domain solutions.
  • Engage with third-party vendors, system integrators, and SAP directly to evaluate solutions and manage architectural risks.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in an architecture role focused on SAP CPQ and Pricing systems.
  • 5+ years of hands-on SAP CPQ (Preferred) or any other CPQ solution as a solution architect.
  • Added advantage on knowledge about Pricing Pros, SAP Pricing set up etc.

  • Any certifications in CPQ domain is highly desirable.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid cloud architecture.
  • Experience or certification in SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or similar methodologies
  • Ability to set priorities and remain flexible in a changing environment.
  • Ability to build relationships with and gain the trust of customers by always meeting commitments.
  • Acting with a sense of urgency; a bias for action and speed
  • Ability to make the complex simple and speak/write clearly and succinctly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate across borders.
