Job DescriptionAs the Principal Infrastructure Demand Planner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping OCI's network capacity strategy. Your primary responsibility is to own and manage capacity forecasting and planning for a specific segment of OCI's global network, ensuring optimal performance and future-proofing our infrastructure. This role demands a deep understanding of network capacity planning, fiber infrastructure, and capital approval processes, with a focus on backbone, metro, and POP capacity.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain accurate capacity forecasts for a defined portion of OCI's global network footprint.
- Partner closely with fiber sourcing teams to secure dark fiber IRUs and plan DWDM/lit wavelength requirements.
- Navigate OCI's capital approval process, including PAQ, CAR, PR, and PO, to secure funding for capacity enhancements.
- Collaborate with site design teams on OAD/3AD/POP/Hub site planning, ensuring alignment with capacity needs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to identify opportunities for network optimization and cost efficiency.
- Conduct regular capacity reviews and provide insights to stakeholders, ensuring proactive capacity management.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and finance, to align capacity planning with business goals.
- Document and communicate capacity planning processes, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach across the organization.
- Mentor and guide junior capacity planners, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
