Job Description

The Principal Gas Processing Specialist position provides technical support for a range of UOP technologies such as Separex, LNG treating, Gas Processing, Russell, MolSiv, Benfield, Carbon Capture and PSA. The primary accountability of the position is to complete the transfer of our technology to deliver to our customers' UOP-licensed or UOP-designed units that operate optimally, profitably and safely. To do so, the Specialist will have regular interaction with external customers, and with other UOP personnel involved in technology delivery projects. In addition to customer contact, the position provides interaction with all the UOP departments involved with technology delivery. The interaction with other UOP departments provides excellent exposure as well as providing knowledge of accountabilities in other areas.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the focal point for office-based support of new unit and revamped unit startups from pre-commissioning through guaranteed acceptance
  • Participate in R&D technology improvement projects
  • Champion changes & improvements in technologies supported via innovation (MOIs)
  • Participate in Engineering review meetings for new units and revamps including Design Basis, PFD, P&ID, MFD, Plot Plans, HAZOP, -Model Reviews, and others
  • Review, analyze and provide feedback on commercial unit operating data and other commercial information/experience
  • Prepare and update general operating manuals, process technology manuals, and training materials and present UOP technology training courses both in the US and abroad
  • Review emergencies and normal operating procedures with customer shift operating personnel
  • Advise customer operating personnel on the establishment and maintenance of the various process variables necessary to achieve safe and efficient operations
  • Collect and analyze unit operating data and laboratory results
  • Advise customer personnel during the performance of various activities routine to the long-term operations of a UOP process unit


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelors in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years' industry experience in gas processing, gas treating or hydrogen technologies.
  • 5+ years of customer-facing experience
  • Willing to do 25% travel throughout US, some international travel


WE VALUE
  • Experience with UOP Gas Processing and Hydrogen technologies - Separex, LNG treating, Gas Processing, Russell, MolSiv, Benfield, Carbon Capture, Ortloff and PSA
  • Prior field experience
  • Certification or training in BOSIET or HUET
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with customers (internal and external)
  • Ability to educate and train junior Field Service Advisors and Technical Services Specialists
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word


The annual base salary range for this position is $162,000-$190,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
