Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Special Program Portfolio in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division.

This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:  

  • Performs research and studies subjects such as rates of return, investments, and financial and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements, balance sheet, and income statements. 

  • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management. 

  • Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, and document format for data processing equipment. 

  • May provide analysis on business development and may monitor business performance by unit or division.

  • Setup, monitoring, and controlling program costs.

  • Estimate at completion and forecast related activities.

  • Performing miscellaneous financial analysis as required.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university and 5 years of relevant experience, OR a Masters degree and 3 years of relevant experience, OR a PhD and 1 year of relevant experience. Four additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. 

  • Requires experience with MS Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. 

  • Requires experience with an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tool, Business Intelligence & Analytics tool. 

  • Project Management & Planning tool and/or Collaboration & Integration tools.

  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.

  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and reporting including Annual Operating Plans and Long Range Strategic Plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • US Citizenship is required with an active in-scope US Secret Security Clearance (obtained with the last 6 years)

  • Experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration. 

  • Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data visualization tools.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Experience managing and analyzing project costs 

  • Experience supporting contracts with EVMS requirements

  • Working knowledge of S4.

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
