Full Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Principal Exchange Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. The position is onsite.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Install, configure, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Exchange Server environments to ensure reliable and secure messaging infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot complex mail flow, connectivity, permissions, and filtering issues, escalating when needed and resolving high-impact incidents
  • Lead the development and documentation of system processes and train team members to ensure operational consistency and knowledge transfer
  • Monitor performance, capacity, and backups; perform test restores and implement system updates, patches, and improvements
  • Design and implement Exchange-related components, tools, and enhancements to support enterprise infrastructure and collaboration
  • Contribute to strategic planning, solve complex technical problems, and lead Exchange engineering projects or functional teams when required


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant Microsoft Exchange experience; an Associates degree with additional 2+ years of experience, or a High School Diploma with an additional 4+ years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelors degree
  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server technologies, including on-premise
  • Experience with Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
  • Experience performing Exchange server upgrades, migrations, and deployments
  • Knowledge of email security technologies, such as email content filtering
  • IAT Level III/DoD 8140 Advanced certification, e.g., SecurityX or CASP+
  • DoD 8570 Computing Environment certification within 6 months of hire


Preferred Qualifications:
  • One of the following certifications is desired: MCSE - Microsoft Certified System Engineer, MCSE - Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, MCSA - Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, MCITP - Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional, VMware VCP - VMware Certified Professional, CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Administrator
  • ITIL v.3 Foundations or later certification highly desired
  • Experience using a Service Desk ticketing system, such as TrackIT or ServiceNow
  • Previous customer service experience strongly desired


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a current and active Top Secret clearance, and be willing and able to obtain a polygraph


Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
