Summary: The person in this position will be responsible for managing teacher and student accountability; most importantly, this involves ensuring grade book compliance and state testing readiness. The principal will work as an instructional leader and oversee day-to-day operations with regard to instruction and quality assurance monitoring. Additionally, this individual will manage a wide range of special projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - The principal is responsible for overseeing all instructional operations of the school: working with parents, students, support sta? and certi?ed teachers who virtually facilitate a one-on-one student instructional program
- Act as an instructional leader to drive student achievement
- Ensure that teachers exhibit and maintain a high level of instruction, professionalism, instructional support and customer service
- Ensure the academic success of individual students by utilizing all levels of academic support available and working with teachers to deliver program information and address individual student needs
- Continuously monitors and evaluates instructional sta? performance; produces statistical analysis on a regular basis to improve the quality of teaching
- Provides timely feedback to instructional sta?
- Provides detailed teacher performance reports to the administration on a weekly basis Interfaces with parents and students
- Communicates weekly priorities with instructional sta?
- Assists in the planning of some of the professional development, trainings and meetings for sta?
- Coordinates with all other departments to ensure that the educational needs of all students are met
- Ensures that instructional sta? are in a constant mode of improvement to increase student achievement
- Support all instructional sta? to troubleshoot issues and o?er support as needed Supervise subordinates e?ciently, in a way that builds camaraderie, team building and a positive atmosphere
- Represent the school in a professional manner at all times, when working with stakeholders, in dealings with outside entities and situations with fellow employees Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position directly supervises a team of 40 - 50 teachers
Quali?cations - Demonstrated leadership in an educational setting
- Leadership experience in distance education preferred
- Demonstration of e?ective interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience teaching within a virtual learning environment
- A minimum of 3 years teaching experience
- A minimum of 3 years leadership or management experience in an educational setting
- An understanding of charter school operations, di?erentiated learning, and blended learning
- Experience as a virtual/online student, teacher, or administrator
Education and/or Experience - Master's Degree in Educational Administration/Leadership, preferred
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, required
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scienti?c and technical journals, ?nancial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to e?ectively present information to direct reports, top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability Ability to de?ne problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Google suite, Microsoft Excel, Word,and PowerPoint. Must have high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the business operations of the school.
Certi?cates, Licenses, Registrations - Current driver's license
- Oklahoma Principal Certi?cate or equivalent
