Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder's Fresno location is seeking a highly motivated and creative leader; a talented Principal level Group Manager [PE or CCM] to grow our operation in the South Valley portion of our Northern California & Pacific Area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing Kleinfelder's Fresno team, business development, selling civil, geotechnical, environmental and construction services across multiple markets to include water, transportation, power, and federal. As part of the assigned duties the Principal level Group Manager will lead local operations, supervise and drive organic grow across all service.

***We are offering a minimum $10,000 sign on bonus for this role!***

Position Requirements:
  • Candidates are required to have 12 or more years of related experience - 15+ years is highly preferred
  • Licensed professional civil engineer, PE in the state of California or a CCM
  • Proven experience in identifying and capturing business development opportunities, preparing proposal scopes and budgets, owner/teaming relationships, and/or leading technical aspects of large pursuits
  • Proven experience in leading diverse project teams
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring staff
  • Proven experience being a trusted advisor to clients of all sizes
  • Proven experience assisting clients from design through construction
  • Proven experience providing construction support or Resident Engineer

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical, Environmental or other relevant degree required. Master's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering strongly desired.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Licensed geotechnical engineer, GE, in the state of California
  • Be a recognized leader in their field
  • Proven experience providing construction support or Resident Engineer
  • Have the ability to develop highly motivated individuals
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams
  • Have experience planning, implementing, and managing geotechnical exploration programs including assigning laboratory testing
  • Have experience guiding staff engineers in performing material and site characterization, foundation recommendations, slope stability, and settlement analyses, etc.
  • Have experience preparing geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications for foundations and earthwork for a wide range of projects including transportation, water, retail, hospitality, commercial, etc.
  • Have experience with design-build, CM/GC or progressive design-build delivery methods
  • Have experience with large transportation projects with experience in a senior capacity
  • Have strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications (AASHTO/CalTrans), and contract administration practices
  • Proven experience in geotechnical levee design, seepage analysis and slope stability of embankments, design of shallow, mat, and deep foundations, and design of retaining walls
  • Have experience supporting project managers in budget management, client updates, and general project management tasks
  • Have experience preparing and presenting technical presentations to clients and technical review boards
  • Have experience supervising field observation, testing, and performing site visits
  • Be able to pro-actively troubleshoot and problem-solve with practical, client-focused solutions
  • Be able to interface with the civil design team to develop and value-engineer practical, fit-for-use geotechnical engineering solutions
  • Be able to organize priorities and multi-task effectively
  • Be able to collaborate with Area leadership and Project Managers to resource delivery effectively
  • Possess a thirst to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary Range: $133,494 - $227,531
