RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: Relocation assistance may be available CLEARANCE REQUIRED FOR START: No CLEARANCE TYPE: Secret TRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the Time Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer. This position is located in Clearfield, UT and supports the Remote Visual Assessment (RVA) program. What you'll get to do: The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems, infrastructure, and equipment to support the government mission and operations. This role involves applying electrical engineering principles to design and develop new systems, modify existing systems, and troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, while ensuring compliance with government regulations and industry standards. The Electrical Engineer will perform electrical analysis, simulations, and testing to validate designs, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with other disciplines such as mechanical, software, and aerospace engineering. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer will develop and maintain technical documentation, including design schematics, technical reports, and test plans, and will provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members. Proficiency in CAD design tools, experience with electrical systems and equipment, and a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including power distribution, control systems, and signal processing, are essential for success in this role. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s Degree with 3 years’ experience; PhD with 1 year experience. - Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance. - Proficiency with MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) - Experience in full lifecycle of electrical system development and deployment – design, test, production phases - Proven technical writing capability and experience communicating technical and programmatic data in presentations, reviews, papers, etc. - Experience and knowledge with using and reading engineering drawings - Software and/or Hardware testing experience - Experience presenting engineering findings orally and in written technical reports and presentations. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
