Job Overview:
This role serves as a senior individual-contributor architecture leader within Enterprise Architecture. The Principal Architect partners directly with cross-functional technology leaders to define and steward the DevSecOps architecture strategy, contributing to the broader enterprise architecture vision and platform engineering roadmap.
The role blends strategic influence with deep technical engagement by owning reference architectures, shaping delivery standards, and ensuring security, compliance, and engineering velocity operate as aligned outcomes across LPL’s regulated technology environment.
Responsibilities:
Define and maintain the enterprise DevSecOps reference architecture, including CI/CD standards, Infrastructure as Code patterns, container platforms, and secrets management
Develop and execute DevSecOps roadmaps aligned with enterprise architecture priorities and regulatory requirements
Establish policy-as-code frameworks and implement automated security controls within delivery pipelines
Design and evolve the internal developer platform (IDP) through standardized workflows, reusable templates, and golden paths
Integrate security practices across the SDLC, including SAST, DAST, container scanning, SBOM, and secrets management
Translate regulatory and audit requirements into automated and enforceable platform-level controls
Define and govern AWS-based architectures across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments
Establish IaC standards using Terraform, including module development, remote state management, and GitOps workflows
Collaborate with infrastructure teams on Kubernetes architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security controls
Evaluate emerging tools and technologies, including AI-assisted development and AIOps capabilities
Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across DevSecOps and platform engineering practices
Produce architecture artifacts including reference architectures, ADRs, and capability assessments
Represent DevSecOps architecture in governance forums and influence enterprise technology direction
