We’re seeking a Principal Design Engineer who thrives on solving complex, high-impact problems, someone who measures success not just by completing tasks, but by the value created through innovative, data-driven solutions. You will lead and inspire cross-functional teams, working closely with Quality, Manufacturing, and Production to implement engineering solutions that protect product integrity, enhance producibility, and deliver measurable, sustainable results. What You Will Do
Experienced support to production by training other functional groups on engineering requirements, product function and preservation of product integrity through manufacturing processes
Analyze and disposition discrepant material based on technical assessment and product function
Drive appropriate engineering changes to increase producibility of legacy product justified through technical substantiation
Communicate progress and results of engineering projects through presentations, leading technical meetings with senior leadership and customers
Liaison with NPI (new product introduction) team for seamless integration of new programs: Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) through ramped up production
Mentor engineers by sharing technical expertise, providing guidance, and supporting their professional growth and development.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

Proven experience inmanufacturing (automotiveor aerospace industries), applying engineeringexpertiseto complex, high-impact projects
Hands-on experience with dynamics, vibrations, and rotating equipment, solving challenging mechanical problems
Exceptional problem-solving skills, including RCCA, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Lean Manufacturing, to drive measurable improvements
Proficiencywith CAD systems and 3D modeling tools, enabling precise design, analysis, and manufacturing solutions
Influential and collaborative leader, witha track recordof successfully guiding cross-functional teams and delivering engineering projects that achieve tangible results

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate27s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
