Key Responsibilities - Maintain accurate and up-to-date books using QuickBooks, with full ownership of general ledger from end to end
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice entry, approvals, and payment processing
- Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including customer invoicing, collections, and cash application
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies proactively
- Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entry preparation and review
- Maintain and organize supporting documentation for all transactions
- Process and record payroll journal entries in coordination with HR/payroll provider
- Manage inventory accounting, including tracking, valuation, and reconciliation
- Assist with preparation of sales tax filings and other compliance requirements
- Respond to internal requests for transaction history, documentation, and reporting
- Identify and flag bookkeeping errors or process gaps to the Head of Finance
Qualifications- 6+ Years of Accounting Experience in a Corporate Environment, CPA preferred; experience at a Big 4, Big 10, or top-tier public accounting firm will be given strong preference
- Demonstrated experience owning full-cycle books end-to-end across multiple functions; candidates whose experience has been focused within a single function or entity may not meet the full scope of this position
- Solid understanding of double-entry accounting and GAAP principles
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation across the full balance sheet
- Hands-on experience with inventory accounting and related reconciliation processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
