Position Summary

MOREgroup is seeking a dynamic Principal to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to expand our Civic practice across our Dallas/Fort Worth market and help shape the future of a growing, forward-thinking organization.

This role will be pivotal in providing leadership to the Texas region, driving business growth, serving as a trusted client advisor, and establishing MOREgroup as an industry leader within the market. Responsibilities

Project Practice Leadership
  • Provide design leadership on projects, ensuring project delivery teams are supported to develop innovative and creative design solutions that align with the firm's design vision and meet client objectives.
  • Oversee project teams including architects, designers, and consultants to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards.
  • Manage project delivery processes from design to construction administration and provide strategic guidance to resolve project-related issues and exceed client expectations.
  • Maintain technical expertise with architectural principles, building materials, construction methods, costs, codes, and regulations in coordination with Project Practice to ensure that projects adhere to the firm's standards and industry's best practices.
  • Serve as the owner's trusted advisor, handling difficult conversations with the client.
  • Lead clients in long-term planning of future projects and maintain a healthy relationship and communication throughout the project.
  • Support tracking of financial health of the offices, including budgeting, financial planning, and monitoring project financial performance to meet goals and objectives.


Business Development
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships to secure repeat business and referrals and participate in client meetings and proposal development to drive firm growth.
  • Develop strategies to grow the client base, identify project opportunities, and generate new business.
  • Participate in the RFQ and interview process for new business.
  • Work with marketing team to respond to RFQ's and RFPs, providing narratives and other content to support successful submissions.
  • Provide proposals for direct award work, including subconsultant proposal coordination
  • Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics for business development goals.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the firm's services and contribute to its success.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and client needs for business development strategies.


Strategy
  • Work closely with Civic National Market Leader, Regional Executive Director, and Managing Principal to align strategic objectives, maximize resources, address any challenges effectively, and ensure a cohesive approach to project delivery.
  • Contribute to strategic business planning and initiatives, leading efforts within designated markets to achieve sustained growth, profitability, and success, while fostering an environment that promotes the company culture and sets a positive tone within the firm.
  • Mentor staff members for well-rounded development by providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work culture within the team.


Qualifications & Skills
  • Professional degree from an accredited Architectural program and Texas licensed is required.
  • 15+ years of experience in architecture, with at least 10+ years in Civic experience
  • Strategic mindset and executive-level client engagement with ability to execute and drive.
  • Experience in business development, including marketing efforts, client interviews, relationship building, and leveraging a client network into project opportunities.
  • Collaborative leadership style, well-versed in mentoring and leading teams of various sizes.
  • Strong business acumen with collaborative leadership style.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, public speaking skills, and interpersonal abilities.


Location
  • Must be located in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
  • Travel to clients within the Texas market is required, as needed.
