Job DescriptionA Principal Category Manager, leads category strategies that improve supplier quality, reduce total cost, and optimize service, delivery, pricing, lead times, and risk. Drives sourcing activities including RFIs/RFPs, supplier selection, and negotiations, while building strong ongoing supplier partnerships. Collaborates cross-functionally with operations, production, and sales to align on goals and support category initiatives and new product introductions.
Responsibilities- Provide expert guidance on category management within cash handling and security, helping you drive informed decisions.
- Own global sourcing for a mechanical or electromechanical category, giving you end-to-end purchasing accountability.
- Shape and apply supplier governance processes that help you deliver sustained value and reduce supplier risk.
- Analyze cost trends and total cost of ownership, enabling you to identify savings opportunities and mitigate cost increases.
- Build and leverage category baselines (spend, supplier performance) to support smarter planning and value improvements.
- Use data analysis to uncover cost reduction and operational efficiency opportunities you can act on.
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure favorable terms aligned with cost and business goals.
- Monitor supplier performance and stakeholder satisfaction to ensure contract success.
- Develop and execute category strategies that balance business priorities and supplier partnerships.
- Identify risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies to protect business outcomes.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications- A diploma or equivalent hands-on experience that demonstrates your practical expertise.
- 8-10+ years of experience in Category Management (or a strong mix of education and experience) where you've built real impact.
- Clear and confident business English skills-both written and verbal-so you can collaborate effectively across teams and regions
The annual base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, geographic location, and relevant experience. Certain roles may include additional components beyond base salary, such as incentive opportunities or other forms of variable compensation. Details of any such components will be discussed during the interview process and will be governed by the applicable plan documents.
