Principal Associate, Project Manager- Financial Services Data

General Responsibilities:

  • Work on large and small scale projects that have a direct impact on the company.

  • Manage programs and portfolios for change initiatives that have been prioritized by the organization.

  • Drive projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met; identify risks and issues and mitigate or escalate as needed.

  • Plan, design, and manage project plans to ensure delivery. This activity includes management through feasibility, design, planning and implementation.

  • Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation.

  • Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery.

  • Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments and alignment on intent.

  • Identify ways to improve and streamline business processes.

  • Exhibit a proven track record of project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage the work.

  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes.

  • Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands.

  • Display strong consulting and collaboration skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

  • At least 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office or G Suite

  • At least 2 years of Project Management, Process Management or Relationship Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience managing technical programs or complex technical projects

  • 2+ years of experience supporting data-intensive solutions or distributed computing environments.

  • 2+ years of experience with Agile delivery frameworks.

  • Experience tracking cross-functional commitments, unblocking engineering teams, and managing dependencies to land business impact.

  • Experience working within a highly regulated environment.

  • PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related technical field such as Computer Science or Software Engineering.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Plano, TX: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Project Manager










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
