Principal Associate - Content Marketing (Hybrid)
The Marketing Principal Associate will be a critical partner in shaping both our short-term platform & testing strategy and long-term strategic vision. Initial priorities will focus on driving Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) through A/B and multivariate testing across our financial content hub and digital platforms. The role will be responsible for optimizing end-to-end user journeys to prime for conversion, supporting traditional SEO, and actively addressing Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) opportunities to ensure maximum visibility and platform conversion.
The ideal candidate leverages deep marketing experimentation experience to translate insights into actionable test opportunities and platform strategies. They will lead an always-on testing roadmap to drive significant lifts in platform conversion metrics. By maintaining an audience-first mindset, they ensure testing agendas are deeply rooted in customer needs and behaviors while aligning with business goals.
Responsibilities:
Explore industry, competitive and internal insights to identify meaningful testing opportunities
Define and lead a testing agenda, leveraging multiple methodologies (Pre/Post, A/B and multivariate and Real-time optimization testing) across landing pages, user journeys, and content placements
Influence product, design and technology partners to evolve platform functionality, increasing elements to use in on-page experiences
Champion the voice of the customer by ensuring the page experience addresses specific customer needs and aligns with business objectives
Establish a long-term platform & testing roadmap that leverages available resources to define a sustainable, always-on testing agenda and evolved platform experience across multiple years
Help define a GEO test-plan that implements & measures improvements to drive performance for Generative Search experiences
Define and execute a content format testing roadmap that includes GEO-specific experiments
Build and maintain strong partner relationships with internal and external teams to develop high-quality content
Serve as the primary liaison for cross functional collaboration, partnering closely with business analysts, marketing and channel teams, brand creative, risk / legal to ensure alignment and seamless execution

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor27s Degree or Military Experience
At least 3 years of hands-on experience executing multi-channel digital marketing campaigns, including Content Marketing and SEO, on either client side or at agency level
At least 3 years of experience leading digital marketing strategies and programs from concepts to execution
At least 3 years working with creative partners or agencies, either internally or externally.
At least 3 years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Marketing, Business or Communications
At least 3 years of marketing experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry
At least 3 years of experience with marketing analytics and optimization
At least 3 years leveraging audience insights, market research, and data analytics to develop detailed user profiles and segmentation strategies that inform content, messaging and channel optimization
At least 3 years of experience leading and optimizing enterprise-scale testing initiatives
Track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Associate, MarketingRichmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Associate, Marketing
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate27s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
