We are looking for a Principal Architect & Lead Data Scientist to join our growing team in United States!
Why the role exists:The program rests on one hard property: any past moment must be servable exactly as it stood, including a world graph that AP rewrites continuously as stories are updated. Reconstructing that graph as of a prior timestamp is the single highest-risk component in the design, and this role owns it.
It is deliberately one role and not two. The person who designs the point-in-time platform has to understand why the measurement needs it, and the person defining the measurement has to know what the platform can honestly serve. Splitting the two produces a platform that is elegant and a back-test that is wrong.
Accountabilities:- Architecture - owns the technical design across the point-in-time platform, the validation engine, the assurance record and the surfaces on top of them.
- Point-in-time platform - landing zone, fact layer and signal store, arrival-stamped and immutable; the time-travel joins the back-test depends on.
- Graph-as-of service - reconstructs AP's mutable world graph at any prior timestamp - the critical dependency of the whole assurance case.
- Read-only taps - the three consumption points off AP's pipeline, and the guarantee that Quality-AI never writes back into it.
- Assurance record - append-only, hash-chained, daily-sealed, write-once retention, reconstruct-able on demand.
- Leakage prevention - the assertion suites that fail the build when future data reaches a training or scoring path.
- Technical leadership - day-to-day direction of the delivery team; the person AP's architects call.
- Transfer - hands the platform to AP Dev/Ops with the documentation and the rehearsal to run it.
Required experience:- Senior architecture experience on data-intensive platforms, with production accountability rather than advisory-only exposure.
- Bitemporal and point-in-time data modelling: event time versus knowledge time, vintages, restatements retained rather than overwritten.
- Feature stores and time-travel joins, and a working understanding of how they leak when built naively.
- Graph databases in production - ideally neo4J - including change data capture on a mutable graph.
- Strong Python; comfortable owning both the pipeline and the analysis running on it.
- Cloud platform depth on AWS or Azure: storage tiering, IAM, immutability and write-once retention.
- Genuine data science credibility - able to hold a technical conversation with a validation lead and a client data science team on equal terms.
- Has led a small senior team through a first production release and a client handover.
Also valuable:- Streaming architectures - Kinesis, Kafka - and the ordering and replay guarantees they do and do not give.
- Audit-grade evidence systems: hash chaining, sealing, retention lifecycle, reconstruction.
- Experience with news or content pipelines, entity resolution and canonicalization.
- Prior work under a model risk or audit regime.

- A Competitive pay, the salary range for the role is $200,000 - $230,000.
