What you’ll be doing...This position is for the Post-GA core performance team. Our primary mission is to ensure an excellent user experience for Verizon customers with a focus around the LTE Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and the 5G standalone core. This will be accomplished by routinely monitoring key network performance indicators, researching ways to improve throughput, and optimizing signaling and user plane performance. We help identify and resolve any core KPI or customer impacting issues that may impact our sub-markets directly.
- Identifying, documenting, and investigating KPI anomalies impacting the user experience and overall performance of the core network from cell site to the Internet.
- Performing big data analysis and visualization to provide new business insights to improve the customer experience.
- Participating in the planning, testing, and integration phases of various projects to upgrade, redesign, and integrate new and existing services.
- Researching and understanding the end-to-end network architecture and call flows from the UE to the Internet for all services including 4G LTE, VoLTE, NNI, and 5G NSA/SA.
- Utilizing various software tools to proactively identify, investigate, and resolve anomalies with various key performance indicators (KPIs), log messages, call flows, and raw packets.
- Improving the performance observability of the network and network functions in regards to accessibility, retainability, mobility, and integrity.
- Participating with team standardization efforts across the country for either tools, processes, or data analysis.
- Helping to mentor other team members by providing knowledge transfers and training.
- Providing support to our network assurance, network repair bureau, and regional RF system performance teams and assist troubleshooting urgent customer impacting issues.
- Exploring and developing new ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness through automation and process improvement.
- Working directly with Sub-markets on any customer or core KPI impacting issues.
- Notifying sub-markets for upcoming activity that may result in KPI impact.
- Helping analyze third party drive results.
- Participating in a high performing team environment focused on producing results and moving forward every day.
This position can be anywhere within the Atlantic South Territory.

You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- An Engineering degree.
- Experience with IP networking or network software/programming, or equivalent detailed coursework in IP networking topics.
- Knowledge of 3GPP LTE and 5G NSA and SA network interfaces, network elements, and end-to-end call flows.
- Experience with deep packet inspection and raw packet collection and analysis.
- Experience with performance and network management tools such as SevOne,Netscout, Wireshark, Grafana, RTT, XLPT, Airwave etc.
- Experience with claude, gemini and other AI based tools.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $107,000.00 - $205,000.00.
