DESCRIPTIONMedNOW Clinics is seeking a compassionate and dependable Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to provide comprehensive outpatient care.
This opportunity is well suited for an experienced physician or a newly trained MD/DO looking for supportive leadership, collaborative care teams, professional growth, and a sustainable outpatient schedule.
Physicians at MedNOW are supported by APPs, Medical Assistants, Front Desk staff, Clinic Managers, Practice Administration, Billing, Quality, and Credentialing teams.
What You Will Do- Provide comprehensive preventive, acute, and chronic outpatient care.
- Independently assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe, order testing, and make referrals within your competence and approved privileges.
- Develop evidence-based treatment plans using shared decision-making.
- Manage chronic conditions and preventive-care needs across an assigned patient panel.
- Recognize urgent or unstable conditions and arrange the appropriate level of care.
- Provide clear patient education, return precautions, and follow-up instructions.
- Respect patient autonomy and document informed refusal when appropriate.
- Order and interpret laboratory work, imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
- Review and act on assigned results, referrals, messages, refill requests, and clinical work queues.
- Communicate urgent findings promptly and ensure responsibility for follow-up is clearly assigned.
- Track referrals and follow-up needs until the care loop is closed.
- Help patients access care by using clinical review and appropriate scheduling options rather than turning patients away because the schedule appears full.
- Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, diagnoses, orders, and coding.
- Maintain current medication, allergy, and problem lists.
- Participate in daily huddles, schedule reviews, coverage planning, and clinical handoffs.
- Work with clinic leadership to manage patient flow, schedule capacity, and unresolved work.
- Support preventive-care measures, chronic-care goals, quality initiatives, and value-based care programs.
- Provide respectful clinical leadership and consultation to APPs, Medical Assistants, and other team members as assigned.
- Encourage staff to raise patient-safety concerns and respond to escalation without blame or retaliation.
- Participate in chart reviews, coding reviews, quality audits, peer review, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain all required licenses, certifications, privileges, payer enrollment, and professional documentation.
Schedule and Patient ExpectationsPhysician schedules are generally structured across
four or five days per week. A typical established schedule may include approximately
18-22 patients per day, depending on visit type, specialty, patient complexity, and clinic needs.
Newly trained physicians may receive a structured schedule ramp-up based on experience, support needs, and patient demand.
What We Are Looking ForRequired Qualifications:- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited medical school.
- Successful completion of an accredited Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or applicable specialty residency.
- Current, unrestricted Colorado physician license or documented eligibility to obtain it before starting.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or the applicable specialty.
- Active DEA registration and prescribing authority appropriate to the assigned role.
- Current NPI and ability to complete MedNOW credentialing, privileging, and payer-enrollment requirements.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain professional liability coverage under MedNOW requirements.
- Strong outpatient clinical judgment, documentation, coding, communication, and follow-through.
- Ability to recognize personal and clinic-resource limits and obtain consultation or a higher level of care when needed.
- Ability to work onsite for the posted schedule and complete patient-care and administrative responsibilities consistently.
Preferred Qualifications:- Outpatient primary-care experience.
- Experience managing a longitudinal patient panel.
- Experience with Athenahealth or another electronic health record.
- Experience with value-based care, quality measures, population health, and care-gap closure.
- Experience with accurate outpatient evaluation-and-management documentation and coding.
- Interest in mentorship, clinical leadership, or program development.
- Newly trained Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians are encouraged to apply.

CompensationThe anticipated base salary range is
$200,000-$250,000 annually.
In addition to base salary, physicians may have the opportunity to earn additional productivity-based compensation. This incentive considers work RVU performance and accurate, timely, and compliant documentation and coding practices, giving physicians an opportunity to increase their total earnings above the base salary.
Eligibility, performance measurements, and payment terms are governed by MedNOW's current physician compensation plan and will be reviewed during the hiring process.
The final base salary will be determined by experience, specialty, credentials, schedule, responsibilities, and internal equity.
