Position Purpose:

SRS Distribution, part of The Home Depot family of companies, is establishing Pricefx as its enterprise platform for price optimization, price management, cost management, quoting/CPQ, and price execution across business units, sales channels, and customer experiences. The platform will support critical pricing and quoting workflows across ERP, digital commerce, enterprise data, and other connected systems.

We are seeking a hands-on, functional-technical Pricefx Engineer to build, configure, support, and continuously improve enterprise pricing technology capabilities. This role will develop deep knowledge of SRS pricing processes and business-unit-specific implementations while translating approved solution designs and business rules into reliable Pricefx configuration, extensions, workflows, pricing logic, and technical components.

You will work directly with business product owners and pricing stakeholders while partnering with the Senior Pricing Solution Architect, API Integration, Data Engineering, ERP, Digital, Cybersecurity, and external partners. This is not simply a platform-administration role: the Engineer will become an internal Pricefx subject-matter expert, own complex issues beyond L1/L2 support, and help SRS retain the technical knowledge required to operate and scale the platform over time.

Key Responsibilities:

Pricefx Engineering & Configuration

• Configure, develop, maintain, and enhance Pricefx capabilities supporting price management, optimization, cost management, quoting, workflows, pricing rules, approvals, and related functionality.

• Build and support SRS-specific Pricefx configuration, extensions, workflows, pricing logic, calculations, and technical components in accordance with established architecture and engineering standards.

• Develop deep functional and technical knowledge of enterprise pricing processes and business-unit-specific Pricefx implementations, becoming a trusted internal technology SME.

• Translate approved solution designs and business rules into production-ready configuration and code, with appropriate unit testing, peer review, source control, and documentation.

• Administer platform configuration, environments, roles, access, and technical controls where those responsibilities are retained by the internal Pricing Technology team.

Business Requirements & Delivery

• Work directly with business product owners, pricing teams, and functional stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify business rules, and translate them into platform configuration and technical solutions.

• Support vertical-specific requirements while applying common enterprise patterns and escalating design decisions that could create unnecessary complexity or divergence.

• Participate in solution design, estimation, development, testing, user acceptance support, release planning, and production validation for new pricing capabilities.

• Build and support quote-platform flows required to create, price, approve, and execute quotes across enterprise systems.

• Partner with the Senior Pricing Solution Architect on complex designs and with the Pricing Application Technology Director on delivery, operational, and platform priorities.

Integration, Data & Cross-System Support

• Support the design and operation of real-time and batch pricing integrations connecting Pricefx to ERP, CPQ, e-commerce/digital applications, enterprise data platforms, and other systems.

• Partner with API Integration and Data Engineering teams on integration design, testing, troubleshooting, data quality, monitoring, reconciliation, and production support.

• Troubleshoot API behavior, failed transactions, data-flow issues, configuration defects, and cross-system dependencies affecting pricing or quoting outcomes.

• Support customer, product, price, and cost master-data alignment and identify data-quality issues that affect platform behavior or business results.

• Validate that Pricefx changes work correctly with downstream applications, enterprise data models, and channel-specific workflows.

Reliability, Releases, Controls & Continuous Improvement

• Lead resolution of complex application, configuration, data, integration, and performance issues escalated beyond managed-services L1/L2 support.

• Perform root-cause analysis, document corrective actions, and implement durable fixes that reduce repeat incidents and improve platform resilience.

• Coordinate platform releases, upgrades, configuration migration, regression testing, production validation, and rollback readiness with internal and external teams.

• Apply security, access, change-management, auditability, and SOX controls to platform configuration and production changes.

• Maintain configuration, integration, operational, and support documentation; convert partner knowledge transfer into reusable internal engineering practices, runbooks, and standards.

• Identify opportunities to automate repeatable work, simplify administration, improve monitoring, and continuously improve engineering quality and platform supportability.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

• Reports directly pricing technology leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience with pricing, CPQ, commercial applications, ERP, CRM, or another complex rules-driven enterprise platform.

• Strong application configuration, software-development, troubleshooting, testing, and production-support skills.

• Experience working with APIs, integrations, data structures, SQL, and enterprise data flows.

• Understanding of software-development lifecycle practices including source control, peer review, testing, release management, and controlled production deployment.

• Ability to understand business rules and translate them into system configuration and technical logic while developing deep functional domain expertise.

• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with business product owners, functional leaders, architects, engineers, and external partners.

• Strong ownership and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work across application, integration, data, and operational boundaries rather than simply handing issues to another team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on Pricefx implementation, configuration, development, or administration experience; relevant Pricefx configuration or integration learning paths/certifications are a plus.

• Experience with Groovy, Java, or another object-oriented programming language, plus Git and modern development tooling.

• Experience with pricing rules, workflows, quote configuration, approval logic, customer-specific pricing, and real-time pricing integrations.

• Experience integrating pricing platforms with ERP, CPQ, e-commerce, CRM, or enterprise data platforms.

• Experience in B2B distribution, wholesale, retail, building products, or another environment with complex customer/product pricing.

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education:

• Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

• 5+ years of Tier 1 Enterprise application engineering, configuration, or development experience supporting business-critical platforms.

Certifications:

• Relevant technical certifications preferred.
