Full Job Description
The Press Manager, Flexographic Print leads and develops a multi‑shift pressroom organization in a 24/7 manufacturing operation, combining hands‑on technical expertise with strong people leadership. This role is accountable for driving a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring consistent execution across all shifts. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the role owns pressroom performance and plays a key role in translating plant objectives into disciplined execution, strong team engagement, and sustainable operational results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily flexographic press operations across four shift teams in a 24/7 environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent performance on W&H printing equipment.
  • Maintain cross‑shift alignment and standardization while serving as the technical escalation point for complex press, quality, and process issues.
  • Own and drive performance against key metrics including safety, quality, waste/scrap reduction, efficiency, uptime, and throughput.
  • Analyze production data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to continuously improve operational results.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce setup times and waste while improving print consistency, reproducibility, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Continuous Improvement teams to support preventive maintenance and drive sustainable process improvements.
  • Ensure printed product meets internal standards and customer specifications by establishing and enforcing flexographic best practices across press operations.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for print defects, downtime, and quality escapes, with strong control of ink systems, anilox, plate mounting, registration, and press calibration.
  • Lead, coach, and develop press operators, leads, and technicians while holding teams accountable for performance, safety, and procedural compliance.
  • Support onboarding, training, and skill development across all shifts, managing performance, corrective action, and recognition while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, GMPs, and plant procedures while leading by example on the production floor.
  • Actively promote a strong safety culture by addressing concerns promptly and implementing preventive solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field 
  • 5+ years of experience in wide‑web flexographic printing
  • Prior leadership experience (Lead, Supervisor, Manager) in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong hands‑on knowledge of flexographic printing processes and press operations
  • Experience managing teams in a multi‑shift or 24/7 operation
Preferred
  • Ability to drive accountability to metrics and performance expectations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) flexographic presses
  • Background in flexible packaging manufacturing
  • Experience leading waste reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with Lean, Continuous Improvement, or similar manufacturing disciplines
