The Role As a Prepress Manager, you will oversee all prepress operations of the plant, supervise our Prepress team, manage workflow schedules, maintain quality standards, and ensure all artwork and plate files meet customer specifications before production.
This is an onsite role working Monday to Friday on day shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm. at our Mississauga (Tristar) location.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of prepress production to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on time
- Review artwork, proofs, and production files to ensure compliance with customer specifications and printing requirements
- Use ESKO Automation Engine (AE-10) system to set up jobs, initiate, manage, and monitor production jobs through automated workflows, ensuring to identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Prepress employees (training, scheduling, attendance, vacation requests, etc.)
- Perform quality checks on plates and jobs, making decisions on re-runs as needed and monitoring non-conformances
- Oversee calibrations of equipment (Epson, plating devices), perform routine maintenance, monitor inventory, and order supplies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lithographic and offset printing processes
Skills & Experiences- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Communications Management or related field, with 5+ years of Prepress experience in lithographic and offset printing
- Previous team leadership experience, mentoring or supervising more junior team members
- Proficient with industry-standard prepress software (ESKO, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Acrobat, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of print file formats (PDF, TIFF, EPS, etc.), colour management, colour theory, proofing processes and achieving colour consistency across different presses
- Experience with pre-flighting, trapping, imposition, and file preparation, including using a RIP (Raster Image Processor) software and file preparation for various print technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot complex prepress and print issues
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines

Compensation$80,133 - 100,166 CAD per year
