This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager.

Help shape a more connected, precise healthcare experience for patients. As the Precision Health Disease Area Lead, you will define and advance strategies that address critical care gaps and improve outcomes across the patient journey. Working across Therapeutic Area leadership, Medical Affairs, Market Access and Patient Support, and Precision Health, you will turn insights into scalable solutions, influence pipeline and launch planning, and drive measurable impact at the site of care.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the disease-area Precision Health strategy, including roadmap, tactical development, and execution oversight across the care pathway.
  • Partners with disease-area stakeholders (including Medical Directors, Therapeutic Area General Managers, Strategy Leads, Market Access and Patient Support, and Precision Health) to ensure strategy and solutions span the end-to-end patient journey and care pathway.
  • Accountable for driving impact and maintaining growth in key precision health growth measures aligned to disease areas, including but not limited to representing US interests in R&D /Pipeline/Launch planning and disease area strategy.
  • Build a culture focused on improving patient outcomes by solving prioritized care gaps at the site of care across the patient journey.
  • Guide development and execution of collateral for Precision Health field teams to solve care gaps at the site of care.
  • Models and promotes effective AI use across the team, embedding AI tools into workflows, guiding team members in responsible AI practices, and fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous learning.


Essential Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPH, PharmD, MD, PhD) preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare/pharma/diagnostics
  • Tenured expert in strategy especially in transformational innovation and/or growth markets including Precision Medicine, HealthTech, MedTech, and/or Therapeutics.
  • Expertise in managing large scale projects designed to support strategic initiatives, innovation, team orchestration, and driving outcomes with customers.
  • Expertise in strategic leadership, influencing at scale and strong executive presence.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives at the account level.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrates strong data literacy and applies digital and AI-enabled thinking strategically and responsibly to improve decision speed, patient outcomes; models and promotes effective AI use across the team; embeds AI tools into workflows; guides responsible AI practices; and fosters a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement.


Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience supporting or leading disease-area strategy across R&D/pipeline through launch and lifecycle.
  • Experience developing and scaling site-of-care solutions (e.g., diagnostics adoption, decision support, workflow enablement) with measurable impact.

Novartis Compensation Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $185,500 and $344,500 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
