Description

Scope: This position is responsible for meeting the goals and operational objectives of the Pre-Production Engineering Department. The manager is responsible for quality, productivity, and cost objectives. This position must partner with other support departments, such as, customer service, product technicians, applications engineering and tooling software support to ensure that the business objectives are met. Success in this position depends heavily on leadership, communication, teamwork, and a sense of urgency.

Essential Job Function:
  • Ensure that all business objectives are met in the areas of quality, productivity, cost, delivery, and capacity
  • Staffing - interview, hire, train, coach, develop and discipline.
    • Establish and maintain high employee morale
  • Exercise judgment and sense of urgency in reacting to constantly changing business needs and daily unplanned demand.
    • Out-Sourcing - Avanzada Printed Technology
  • Schedule and assign the daily workflow and overall throughput for all PPE processes.
  • Provide direct support to all PPE personnel and be a single point of contact for manufacturing in resolving issues.
  • Select and develop personnel for complex tooling orders such as blind and/or buried via, sequential lamination, cavity, selective plate and/or microvia designs
  • Ensure the timely integration of incoming data analysis, design rule checks and data cleanup activities with those of panelization and NC programming
  • Using organization resources, apply specific technical and/or tooling knowledge to develop new ideas and strategies with-in the department.
  • Based on in-depth knowledge of manufacturing capabilities responds to requests from customers and manufacturing for customized tooling
  • Continuous improvement - lead efforts with Tooling Software Support.
    • Actively drive process improvement activities and emphasizes training and documentation to improve the tooling operation
  • Represent the tooling department at various management level meetings
  • Continually improve the quality, workflow, and throughput of the Pre-Production Engineering processes.
    • Work directly with Manager to identify improvements and to implement new changes.
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness and working effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed.

  • Managing of Sites - Job tracking systems, reports, templates, configuration management changes relative to systems infrastructure, and other information technology request as needed to maintain operational tempo of facility.
  • Occasional IT tasks.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position requiring available to work during standard business hours and mandatory weekend overtime when needed to meet production goals. Shifts may include weekends when schedule details are provided in advance.

Work schedule is 1st Shift | Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications, Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2-3-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 + years of experience with PCB CAM and Planning processes and methodologies

  • Demonstrated team leader with good negotiating skills
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the company's goals, objectives, and vision.
  • Familiar with Frontline Genesis, Planning (InPlan) and Oracle MRP Software Modules.

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs, and reach with both hands and arms.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and to perform repetitive motion.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements are necessary to complete the keyboarding, mousing, filing, and copying functions of the job.
  • Fine motor skills are required for keyboarding, mousing and filing

Compensation:

California Pay Range: $90,000 to $1150,000 Annual Salary | DOE

The actual compensation offered is based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant business considerations.
